The picture holding the bike by the top tube is worriesome, but if it's anything like the Aldi or Lidl trainer from a few years back (can't remember which company sold it), it'll be a halfway decent, inexpensive option

I've picked up several Lidl cycling items. A mini-pump--doesn't work well. A multi-tool--heavy. A seat bag--aedequate. A cleaning kit--pretty good. My wife got a pair of their cycling shorts--aedequate. I think all but the shorts were around $5 and the shorts were around $12. I contemplated the stand last year, but it was about $40 and I already have a stand. I was trying to decide if I should send it out to my brother's place for the next time I visit his family. At $20 it might be worth it. Should check shipping prices first.

Kasia of Redbeard bikes (friend of the club and former club sponsor) emailed that they have some discounted new hamerhead Karoo 2 for Kissena members.

All of it brand new, all of it older - I'm assuming they buy their products in bulk that's last year's or even older. I don't need the most recent thing, just something that is new and works. Their site is not that user-friendly and it's kind of what the internet used to look like when it just got started, but the orders go through and then bike stuff shows up outside my door like magic.

My Moser-raced-Prospect-Park era Sidi's are definitely past their expiry date; sadly they changed their sizing rubric so I'm back to square 1 looking for new shoes.

I've been contemplating replacing my similar era Sidis (2012 vintage) with new ones, but the damn pair keeps going and you can replace most of the parts (if you can still find them). Really good to know they updated their lasts - pretty sure my foot is now moulded to the shape of the current ones.

I feel like my shoes & feet have become one weirdly shaped glomp of flesh, faux-leather and a decade of sock fluff. Gonna be hard to replace.

The best recommendation for shoes is to go to a shop, like ride brooklyn and try a few.
I've landed on Giro shoes for me, for both road and off road, but your mileage will most definitely vary.
All the good brands are good, you just need to find the one that fits and works for you.
Giro, Specialized, Fizik, Shimano, Quock, Lake
If Sidi works for you, by all means. Them too. Note that they are not usually mentioned anymore at the same level than other brands.
A sidenote mention, laces are surprisingly the most aero of all options (not a joke)

Actually I am loving the Giro Empire lace up gravel/cross shoes even if sizing is slightly small. The Empires are the only other pair I've tried that feels "good" for my feet, very similar to my Sidis with the tight/narrow toebox. I'm currently only tolerating the two Fizik shoes. Sadly the "style only" pair of Adidas x Marimekko shoes fit really well but the base isn't carbon and is too flexible as a race day performance shoe.

FWIW, I've found that Specialized S-Works shoes don't fit my feet the same as their other models.

This is the modern update to the classic plastic rain cape of yore. It fits closer, packs really small, stretches a bit, and is still kind of see-through. If you're looking for a rain jacket that can easily stow in a jersey pocket, this is hard to beat. I had one of these for years, it eventually gave out at a zipper, I replaced it with a similar one from Pactimo that I don't think is as good. $49 is hard to beat.
