Deals + Steals

I've written in the  past that when I get tired of drinking straight water, especially on hot days, I pop some kind of drink tablet in my water to add flavor and some electrolytes.

Zym, which competes with Nuun and SIS in this category, has a blowout sale going on.  It seems that they're charging $2 for a ten-tablet tube.  If that's right, 5 tubes, 50 servings for $10 and it seems to include shipping.

Seems like you need the UTM code and such to get the page.

Just ordered 5 tubes, thanks for sharing! Should be noted that they do say "best by" May 2022.... we should be thanking whoever messed up their inventory controls!
Nice find @wump!
Nashbar are giving 40% off Niterider lights FWIW
Nashbar still exists?
Nashbar still exists?
I still get emails ,I saw the offer and was coincidently in the market for a new headlight
Lidl, the German supermarket chain which sponsors QuickStep, just opened a store near me in Harlem.  My wife went in the other day and came back with a pair of cheap cycling shorts, $10.  And she said they had other stuff.  A repair kit with bag for $8, cleaning tools $10, a repair stand for $40.  The brand of cycling gear is Crivit Pro, which turns out to be a Lidl house brand, and another QuickStep sponsor.

I checked out the store this morning.  While they didn't have a stand assembled, that repair stand looks like a great deal.  No telling the quality.  Seems to collapse, though probably not as easily or small (I hope) as my Feedback Sports model.

they also have a store in Astoria.
Looking for a helmet to match your kit? Or perhaps a great deal on a smart trainer? Visit RedBeard on a Saturday and they’ll hook you up

We do have 2x Medium and 1x Large Orange Protones if anyone on the team wants to buy
And I have 3x SNAP trainers + 5x mats that I would love to sell ASAP. Will give KCC riders a very special price for these in return for them freeing up much needed shop space :)
Guys! I spotted these two gems at the local bike swap. $200 and $225. Both are size 58.

Holler if you want me to try and nab either of them; shipping from MN will be on you.

@Jules if only I was taller and in need of classic bike components.

If you're looking for a moonlighting gig, I'm sure you could part out those bikes for considerably more.

I agree. Homebrew bike parting ain't my gig though. Such beautiful art. I just want to sit in a cafe and drink good coffee while looking at them
That Benotto is a ridiculous find Jules, check that 12-18 block!
The 2022 market is such that flipping bikes has become a very real thing, instead of breaking up to sell for parts. Usually by getting a beater(ish) and updating it in some cool way. That said, the bikes above seem to be in crazy great shape, not sure what to upgrade on them, they are gems!

Saris is selling off their stock of H3 trainer since they are going out of business.  You can grab one for $384 with the code CSDEALDD-40.  If you need a trainer for the winter, or are looking to upgrade, this is a great deal.

Can we buy this as the Kissena Club car? Whoever gets injured first every season gets to drive it up 9W for the remainder of the year
Id say you might need a "pit car" for when it breaks down
@Mark Taylor That's what the Merckx is for!

They're clearing off their inventory. Does anyone use it? I'd like to put it on cross bike.

It will sound like a very green question but how do you know which size of chainring it is compatible with?

Quarq are generally considered some of the best power meters we can buy. Both my cyclocross bikes have one.

This particular quarq dzero has a 5 bolt 110mm BCD; which is very standard today, basically you can put any size chainring you want from 34 to 58 teeth. I recommend a wolftooth 38 or 40 for cyclocross; but even a cheap amazon one could do. You will likely need to get bolts.

A word of caution @Remy Forgues the particular quarq link you sent has 165mm cranks, which might be too small for you.
It is possible to replace crank arms. Carbon SRAM arms cost about $200. Aluminum arms should cost less.  The spider may still a good deal with the addd chainring and arms
Agreed with Pat and Eloy. I have quarq meters on both my road and cross bikes and they work flawlessly. Anyone who’s in the market for a power meter should snag this- easily the best price I’ve seen on one for the quality you get
@Remy Forgues

I'm guessing that they're blowing out that powermeter because of the aluminum 165mm arms.

It's even a bit more complicated than the others are reporting, assuming Sunrise is right about the thru-axle being BB30.  BB30, though it's the thru-axle and can be replaced, is really hard to fit inside conventional bottom brackets.  Oversized BB's are another story.

Most likely, the thru-axle will come with whatever SRAM/Quarq arms you get.  And it's most likely the "standard" 24mm thru axle with the 2mm step-down on the left side.  it probably doesn't work with the SRAM "DUB" standard.

Still, if you could find 175mm arms in carbon or aluminum, in BB30 or 24mm, you probably could have something great for some bike.
Remy, JP is correct, not sure what bottom bracket you have, if this power meter is for your Ritchey Cross, then likely you have a 68mm BSA, and it will not be trivial to fit a BB30 crankset to it.
Thanks for the pointers. It doesn't sound like such a great deal anymore.
Some Kissena clothes for free, all used, maybe a bit streched, but still on totally usable shape:

- 4 medium shorts, white side panels
- 1 Short sleeve Jersey, medium, old sponsor logos
- 1 Short sleeve skinsuit, medium, old sponsor logos, no pockets
- 1 Long sleeve skinsuit, small fits like a medium, old sponsor logo, no pockets

Let me know if you want any, or all of them.

@eloy i'd gladly take that long sleeve skin suit off your hands!
