Anyone contemplating this one?

https://www.bikereg.com/Net/16489

I know some guys did the Spring one and weren't impressed. Plus registration fee is $65. That being said, I may do it if others are.
No chance.  Dieter runs a run race, but 80 miles of flat with a wild-west final sprint ain't my bag, baby...
I wouldn't call it flat. My Garmin says 1.174km of total ascent in the race.
Adam is correct that it's not flat. But I know what Jules means. All the ascent happens so gradually that there are never any steep grades. So it feels flat. I don't think it ever goes above 4% except for one short hill near the start, and that second bump you see on the elevation chart is only 1%-3%.

This spring I turned myself inside out in this race, attacking whenever it would pitch up at all, just desperately trying to make something happen, but nothing ever did.

Its not a bad race, but the profile does make negative racing likely. I wouldn't do it again, for sure.
On the other hand, if you have a monster sprint you'd love to unleash in a crowded pack of Kracken-esque glory, this is your baby.
hmmm
Yeah I have to agree with Ryan on this one. After the first loop all I thought to myself great now I only have to sit in for 40 miles before I can field sprint.
Anyone even thinking of this?  Would be keen but would be nice to split travel costs and not go on my own.
I'm thinking about it. Might have the ability to car pool too. Not sure yet about either.
I was thinking about it a couple weeks ago but no one seemed interested at the time. I don't think I can do it now. Looking at FBF for Sunday though.
Well, it's a Saturday morning thing.  If I had my choice it would be get up early, drive up, get back.  The men 3 and 4 fields are set to start at 1010am.  Would definitely be possible with a 630am Brooklyn depart.
My friend would most likely be doing the masters race. How bad do you want to go Adam? I'll find out. His ride has room for three.

Personally, I can take it or leave it. But I love to race.
Adam/Vlad- I'm gonna do the 3/4 race. I'm gonna drive if anyone needs a ride.
It's either or.

I guess I'll do it. I can ditch my masters friend.
Can you fit three cyclists and 3 bikes in your car Dan or is it max at 2?
I'm going to answer on his behalf and say yes. I've seen him do it. I've been in the car.

Is it on or is it on?
If Dan gives the green light on the ride, I'm in!

yes sir.  all good for 3 in a car. Have extra rack.

I registered for the 3s.  Vlad I assume same. Adam?

donkey kong

burger time
FYI, there's some consideration of doing a post race Devil's Kitchen TT. I brought a flip cam in case we choose to document it.

Any thoughts?
My thought is there is no chance in hell that I would ever to do a TT up Devil's kitchen after a race.

But ya'll have fun!

(YES - film it)
4th for Adam in the 4's
11th for me in the 3's
Hubbs DNF'd

No DK TT for us because Dan can't stop hysterically crying (and eating). Major bummerz. Oh well, it's his car.
Nice work, boys. Upgrade time for Adam?
He's 1 point short! If there was one more racer in his field, he would have gotten enough.
Nice work guys. Was it more aggressive this time?
He'll get it, if not this year, easy next spring.

Nice work guys!
Nicely done lads!
Thanks guys.

Results, bros

Well done everyone.

I also see that Allen Carr got 4th in the 3s. Seems his stint with KCC was short lived, as was a stint with Major Taylor.
