Hey guys - I can't make 6pm Computrainer this week (and probably the next few weeks). I can't put any pressure on my hand yet (riding outside is out, driving is out, etc) , so the logistics of getting to BK with bike are a bit tough.

We had some calibration issues that we were aware of. I didn't realize how off things were on my trainer till I got home. and checked my Garmin.

I need someone to take over my spot next week at 7:45 PM. Great time last night. Indeed, the calibration was way off base, I won the race averaging about 216 Watts. I was humbled witnessing Joseph averaging 250 w without pulling a sweat! Thanks for E. Ragot for providing the music.

Race report - Ryan, Vlad, Mitch, me. 6pm. Vlad and Mitch attack at the gun. Ryan rides appropriate tempo with Coach Ragot. Ryan gets angry after a while. Ryan hammers to reel in Vlad and Mitch. Mitch has mechanical issues. Ragot stops to calibrate powermeter. Roagot restarts. Ragot far behind.
...time passes...
Ragot slowly claws back to Vlad still riding tempo. Ryan has ridden away and still has an agenda. Over the last few climbs, Vlad comes closer to Ragot until a big 700w+ effort by Ragot up a shallow slope closes the gap for good. Ragot and Vlad swap 2nd spot until the last 1/2 mile as Ragot ups the tempo and comes in ahead.

Being my first time on CompuTrainer I didn't know enough to realize that Thierry's efforts -- a consistent 22.5mph on 7% inclines, 6.5% declines and flats -- were not a product of steady power output but calibration issues. So I spent a full hour trying to match that (failing spectacularly, of course). For the life of me I can't recall anything of the race. I do know for sure, though, that I cannot ride 22.5mph on a 7% incline.

What with Thierry and Rick being out of action for tonight's 7:45 and last week there only being four of us anyway, is anyone still on for tonight's 7:45 session? I would like to avoid being alone, in a basement, beating myself (and by that I do not mean foffing off).
