Does anyone have any experience with Garmin Edge 810? Mine, admittedly a few years beyond it's prime, started crashing right after booting yesterday. I managed to get it to record my ride, but now it crashes before I can upload/do anything. Would love to not do a factory reset (remembering my settings would be a pain).

but the idea of getting hydraulic brakes and a totally wireless gruppo, i.e. never having to change or replace a cable like ever again is the stuff of dreams.

Of course, eventually we'll enter a world of sucky battery lifecycles and radio signal interference, but no more cable changes ever on a budget. DREAM MAKER.

I love my (very old now) Di2 shifting - it's always smooth, always easy. What I don't love is having one more battery to check before beginning a ride. Checking my Phone, Garmin and Powermeter is easy enough because I have to that every day. Checking my Di2 battery is a pain because it's infrequent enough that I often forget, and I have very little sense of how long I have when it's not "green."

btw, redbeard has pretty great seat bags, and their prices are unbeatable. We didn't mean to, but slowly the Silca roll premio has become the default unofficial "official" Kissena seat bag

Ah thanks for the note @eloy, I read mixed reviews on the silca roll - though I loved the design, I heard it worked its way loose on gravel / off-road?

Road Runner is a great company and I like that they're handmade in the US - their handlebar bags are solid @Mark Taylor  - the "burrito" is the same size as a Cali burrito and fits a ton

Good to know that we can ask to see if Redbeard can order stuff like this! Going there after work tonight to pick up my protone / kit order.

Change yer brake pads! Embarrassed I let these go for so long. I've been using my CX bike for commuting and finally found the source of the squeaking!
Took the brake apart, regreased, and rode in today. New pads feel like warm clothes after a shower in the winter.

These spare tubes seemed pretty crazy until I saw the price. But they might be worth it for those big unsupported races. I gather folks were using them at the DK200. This pic shows two of their 40c inner tubes

Need a new pair of shoes. My trusty Giro Factors are just about done in. From what I see, another pair of Giros is the best bang for my buck. In other brands, I’d have to spend $100 more to even get a full carbon sole.

I’m considering the Empire but have never used a lace up cycling shoe. Anyone here used them? How does it compare to shoes with Boa or the standard ratchet?
