Congrats! (No one tell JP that he broke his own rule of not racing twice in one weekend in March.) Looks like JP has some nice form...anyone got the legs to help him rack up a few more top 10s this Spring Series?

@tito - it looks like its just the two of us in the 3/4 for now.

Signed up for PP on Sunday 24.  Debating whether to do CP or Branchbrook on Saturday.

I'm signed up for Cat 5's at Prospect on Sunday and am signed up for/will be attempting both the  Masters 35+ 4/5 and Cat 4/5 races at Branchbrook the day before. I'm keeping the training intensity low this week in preparation.

Thinking of racing PP sunday on ye old stomping grounds- 10 laps of PP beats the 4 laps of CP of the saturday race.

I'll be toeing the line in the 1/2/3 both Sat the 23rd and Sun the 24th.  I think Jersey Mike is with me on the 24th.  Anyone else coming out to dance?

I'm in Sunday for the 3/4.

While I agree that 4 laps of CP is on one level kind of weak, on the other, it offers the racer an opportunity to be more strategic, to be more precise. Fewer laps, fewer opportunities to make up for mistakes. And if you are a little short on fitness, you have the chance to compete.

I'm thinking about doing Central Park saturday for the 3/4 race. It's so early and I'm riding from Washington Heights. Anyone else headed down? I'm thinking about departing by Columbia Presby around 5:30am and riding to the park. 

@Craig...since you live in my neighborhood...let me tell you the HOT TIP for rental cars. Take it from the guy who spends obnoxious amounts of money rental cars.

You go over the GWB, and rent from either Enterprise, Fort Lee, or Budget/Avis, Fort Lee. Daily rates on small cars are usually in the $40 range.

The downside, is that Enterprise has limited hours, so if you rent on Saturday, you have to rent for Sunday too and return on Monday. However, the rates are still better than ANYWHERE in NYC proper. Also they have after hours drop-off...so you can return it anytime on Sunday, drop your keys off and be done with it. One other downside is that you only get unlimited mileage if you stay in "bordering" states from New Jersey. Otherwise, it's 150 miles a day.

Alternatively the Budget/Avis (same place, same operators, same cars, two diff't companies, Budget rates generally a few dollars less) is a little bit more than Enterprise, but they have limited Sunday hours, so you can save a day if you only need the car on Saturday. Also, these cars are always mileage unlimited.

I like Sunday in Prospect I think.

I'll be cheering on Sunday - with bottles.  We're down to a couple of dozen now from 100.

i'm planning be out to support on Sunday too.  the bottles are sweet.

Might double up and do Sunday too, if I can crash at my bro's.

Anyone have any floor space or a futon for a cat 3 for prospect park race Saturday night? I'm looking for a place to crash- anyone in Brooklyn or nearby prospect park please let me know.

Marc routinely rides down day-of, and he's at 155th.  While you don't want to wait for him, you should get his route and timing notes.

Yeah...I uhm usually end up cutting it a little too close. It's about 15 minutes to the entrance of the park on 110th and bottom of Harlem Hill if you are traveling briskly. But then depending on how you want to get to the start (legal or illegal, with the flow of traffic or against), it can add another 10+ minutes. I'd give yourself at least 30 minutes from 157th and Riverside drive, and probably another 10 for 40 minutes total travel time, just to be safe. Besides, the earlier you get there, the shorter the reg lines.

The other thing, is if you can swing it, try "pre-riding" the commute...it might serve as a good "Friday Night Openers" kind of thing. Lighter, later...if you are a 9-5er, consider a lap of the park after or before work. If you've got daytime flexibility, ride the course with JP in the late morning.

Thanks for the tips guys. I think I'm rising down to Central Park with Tito Saturday around 5:30.

Prospect park seems a but harder but u have to figure something out for upcoming lucarelli races. Thinking a taxi there and ride home or take the subway at 4am. Neither are great options. Marc let me know what you usually do.
