NYC Spring Cycling Series 2013

Craig,
I ride to Prospect and I'm only a mile and a half closer.  Know that the subway runs on a schedule and you can look it up ahead of time.  First check for service outages, then find the weekend Saturday or Sunday morning schedule.

I'll be toeing the line in the 1/2/3 both Sat the 23rd and Sun the 24th.  I think Jersey Mike is with me on the 24th.  Anyone else coming out to dance?
JP I'm in for Sat. Are you going to pre reg? Doesn't look like the field is to big right now.
I'm registered for hte series.  I like to pre-reg as I hate the morning of race scrum, and more so in the cold.

Looks like we'll also have Craig London and possibly Jersey Mike.  Anyone else?
I'm in for Sunday in Prospect Park.
I'm also in for Sunday p123
Registered for CP Cat-5 on Saturday as well. Looking forward to a full weekend of racing.

Hey Cat 5s, this is a huge crew:

Chris Pedersen

Mark Crowther

Rostislav Knopov

Wes Tillman

Aaron Blum

Frederick (Rick) Perner

mark clifford

Brendan Rigby

Let's meet up at the bathroom by the start finish (Lincoln Road entrance) to do a little pre-race planning @ 6:20.

Then after the race put on some warm clothing and spin around for a bit. After the 123 race we can get together and debrief your race and figure out what we did well and what we need to improve for next week.

Just to add to that -

Any cat5s want to meet at GAP tomorrow at 10am? Brendan, Mark and myself will be there going over some stuff for the following day.

For tomorrow's (Sat) race in Central Park, any Brooklyn crew want to meet at BB and roll over uptown together?

I'm in for the 3/4 Sunday as well - doubling down, baby!

Looks like we got Phillip, Craig and me for the 3/4 in CP, and me and Phillip for 3/4 in PP.

Anyone else saddling up for either 3/4 race?
I am on the fence for Sunday. I may want to sleep in and get a long ride in instead of racing this weekend.
@mperlberg

Decided I'm going to do the race on Sunday in the 5s as well.

Anyone have a medium sized jersey that I can borrow to put over my long sleeve?  Kit won't be in until a few weeks.

I do.  I'll take it with me to the park Sunday.

Tito, I'm going to saddle up for the 3/4 on Sunday morning. See you there.

sweet, thanks Mark.

Hi 5!
Word is Canadian Mike will be pinning on a number in KCC kit for this one.  Not sure how far he's going to get on those Griffos though...

WOOt!

sorry i made a scheduling error.  i won't be at tomorrow's CP race.  physically.

BUT IN SPIRIT I AM RIGHT THERE YELLING AT YOU TO MOVE UP!

unless this odd sore throat and sniffles develops into something more sinister, i'll be at sunday's PP race.

nothing to cure a stressful workweek like a bike race. mmmmm...

good luck to those who are racing tomorrow!

oooohhhhh, sheeeeeeeet...you guys are going to have fun tomorrow. Wish I could be there.
I confirmed with AVD the race is on tomorrow.
shweet, wanna ride down in the AM? we can meet at the top of CP.
I usually roll by your place. Let me check on the time frame.
results, bro?

cross posted...

Results? Race reports? The sick and stuck at home would appreciate some entertainment besides DVR-ed episodes of Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares (a fella can only handle so much yelling).

Not much to report on my end - my first race of the season, getting my race legs back.  My plan to attack at Marc's sweet spot* - on the rise (96th St?) after the descent of Mt. Softee (aka Harlem Hill) - on the third lap was jettisoned because there was a break up the road that was clearly coming back, and I didn't want to be burning matches to bridge up to that.

On the last lap I was just too shelled from staying near the front up Harlem Hill to try anything, and when the field sprint came up Cat's Paw I was cooked.  Not a well thought-out race overall, but meh.  It's March.  I have higher hopes for tomorrow.

Craig was up in front almost the whole race, trucking.  I'll let him share his report.

*ummm...what?
