Fantasy Cycling

The European racing has been pretty except this spring. There is a good rivalry among Jeff, Mark, Shane, Jim and I for the one day classics (which is ongoing). Right now Jeff is pulling ahead with Mark and Shane nipping at his heels. Jim and and are battling for the Lantern Rouge.

The Tour of Romandie starts Tuesday. Several of us have set up teams for the one week tour. This is a good way to dip your toes into Fantasy Cycling. The big names are Thomas, Porte, Froome, Uran and Kruijswijk. Who are you betting on?  Pick a team and join us on league code: 49752009

What riders gave you the best bang for the buck during the spring? someone did the math:

My mom (yes, you read that right) shared the following tour tracker site for the Tour of Romandie. She was disappointed that she couldn't catch any on the Olympic Channel. She watches more for the scenery than for the riders, but she was a big fan of Spartacus when he was riding. I saw Cancellara at a Trek event a few years back and told him that my Swiss mom who was in there 80s was a fan. I think he got a kick out of that

Bissigger and Thomas put me over the top!

A wet soggy Romandie title is mine and I didn’t even crash myself out within sight of the finish line!

Go me!
Is there a Giro fantasy league going?
Rich - it's called KISSENA21. I think you can use the same league code as above:

In. Niche childhood Italian team name reference.
Mark - once it starts tomorrow I would like you to send us screenshots of all of your discarded lineups.
I'm in for this one. I know he's not racing, but I feel like they should let me pick Thibaut Pinot so I can prepare to be disappointed at the tour.
I had Carthy , Remco and Hindly in and out so many times I lost count

i did find the all rounder picks incredibly limited
My biggest debate was Carthy vs Landa. My heart goes with Carthy, and he has shown good form this spring, but Landa has been on the podium before and has a strong team backing him up. I think the odds are that Landa will rack up more fantasy points, but I just couldn’t do it.

I should add that Landa never ceases to disappoint

Carthy forever 😍
I had the same debate and went with Carthy.

I’m hoping I’ll get at least two stages right with Ganna. Feels like a safe bet.
I wrote Ganna off after poor showing in Romandie

what do I know 😩
Ganna will probably keep the pink jersey for several days. You’ll get good points for that and next TT
Who had Gavaria getting put into the barriers by his own teammate??
Jesus what a mess.
Also, kudos to those new barriers. I think with any other barriers that would have been ugly.
Yeah they are much improved (probably well overdue!)
Whose ranked 5036 of 20953?
Ugh I turned today’s stage off to start teaching when my absolute wildcard pic (Quinten Hermans) had a 6 minute lead on the peloton. I was hoping for a surprise boost of points but I’m happy for Dombrowski.
I thought Bernal looked good, regretting my yates pick already,
just watched. I have Juul-Jensen and thought he was going to take it for a fantasy upset.

Keep the faith.

Steady on , right now you haven't even won Tirreno Adriatico, never mind a 3 week race
I'd still put money on @Jeff Condon :'(
Pretty sure I won the Tour one year as a neo-pro.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I had Landa
Does Jeff get extra points for having Serry who was rear ended by a team car at 12k to go today?
Has Jim found his form after coming up short this spring or was he bluffing and hiding his fitness all along?
