The feed has been really good through my Apple TV, although I wish I could unsee the wreck and the multiple replays.  Godspeed.

Not to take away from the insanity of racing a Grand Tour! It is plenty difficult by any measurement, from simple to sophisticated.

I wrote somewhat in jest.

Nate Brown is taking it "easy" on the mountain stages, and wherever else he can.  That's in order to survive.  He still needs to be able to put in huge spikes of effort here and there, efforts that we'd be lucky to keep up for a few minutes, let alone the 20-40 minutes he needs to do just in order to finish.  

There are probably stages where he races the first two or three hours on the rivet, trying to get into breaks, sheltering Uran, closing gaps, etc, then gets dropped, waits for the grupetto, and gets to the finish with the minimum effort necessary.

Agree with LeMond. It is a race for God's sake, long stages with many things happening. That is the beauty and human aspect of it.
Attack whenever you want and when it seems the best moment. Period.
Otherwise let's organize and do only track races and stop riding Grand Tours.

I miss the mountain bike scene where there was no neutral assistance.  You carried what you needed...you fixed your own mechanicals.  This made you choose your equipment wisely.  If you wanted to run super light gear = you took your chances.

Uran ???  The guy who not only finished with the elite group of climbers on the queen stage but WON the sprint with 1 gear.....this is the guy getting a 20 second penalty...and Bardet does not for the same offense?  This smells like a dumpster fire...Could you imagine what would happen if they yanked the yellow jersey off Bardet???
