My only question is the crank placement.  Most either follow the seat tube or chain stay angles but Eloy positions the drive side crank arm with the bottom tube.

Not quite the soft porn glam shots Eloy posted of his new plastic bicycle...but Yacks has a little sumpin sumpin cookin this winter.  This bike is not about turning slow laps in the park while dreaming of a new Rapha wind vest...NO SIR !!! Jim - Very happy with mine. I came from an aluminum Van Dessel Hellafaster that was a great race bike but was a killer for rides over a few hours. I've done 200k on the TCR and any discomfort was not bike related.

The TCR is also a couple pounds lighter all told (with fancier bits) and it feels a bit livelier when things go up hill. Its my first carbon bike unless you can count the carbon tube aluminum lugged Allez that I did my first race on back in 98.

I also got the deeper wheels but everyone I've talked to with the stock 30mm version seems to like them. I'm also pretty fond of the cockpit (though someday I hope to graduate to a big boy stem if I prove to Ilya that I'm doing my stretching - did yoga this morning Ilya!) The deal is fantastic through Redbeard at all trim levels.

Thanks for the info Jim. Going back and forth on TCR or Defy for some gravel racing because, as you know, road season is just cross warm ups!

Jim, have the TCR and love it. The new TCR disc probably fits at least a 30mm tire which could work for gravel pretty well

Doesn't your TCR fit a 26mm tire with room to spare?  To me, that's pretty good for gravel racing.

Yes. Usually run specialized 26s. Which are about conti 25s and there's plenty to spare. 

I run the 4000s in 25 but they plump out to about 27 on the wider rims. There is a bit of room left but not sure I could run the 28s. 

It seems like every new frame is disk-ready, is there any way around having to use disk brakes? Or does the frame dictate that??
