The New Bike Thread

New cross bike! I'm currently touring through the south right now, and found this beauty on Craigslist. Its a cannondale super x (ignore the platform pedals on it right now, ha). Took it out for a spin on some single track trails in Birmingham Alabama today. Definitely in love.
Sweet Jeff. This thread also seems to involve naming of said new bikes. Any thoughts?
Nice bike Jeff.
Nice!

Hm, considering I picked this lady up south of the maison dixon, I think sweet Caroline fits her just fine.
here's my new bike. 2014 supersix evo 3 ultegra. added tiny handlebars and some dt swiss carbon clinchers, decals removed. clearly the chain rings need to be black. No comments (I mean it!) about the cages, they are on purpose!!
My bikes all have goth names, Im keeping the spokes white so maybe the name needs to be a black and white film, The Seventh Seal? The Omen?
I love this bike.

I think in old horror movie fashion tribute, it should be named after Island of Lost Souls (as most cyclists are) or The Ghoul.

My bike is called Barbie. Dream bike next to it. Where you ask? THE RAPHA CLUB SHOP DUH!!!!
@Anna Maria

Obvious choice: Nosferatu

 Cartoon choice: Gigantor the space age robot

The Only Choice: Kiefer Sutherland in The Lost Boys

I COULD quote Rick Springfield lyrics here, but I choose not to.
Since my above-ground-pool-blue Spooky looks like anti-freeze...I'm going with "The Toxic Avenger"...take that all you newbie whipper-snappers that don't know what cinematic life was like pre-bluescreen !!!
The new 'cross / commuter is complete! Meet (tentatively named) Vanessa: 2008 Van Dessel Hole Shot Apex/Rival mixed group. Upgraded the stock Kore Kross brakes to Avid Shorty Ultimates. Currently sporting white LizardSkins tape, white on white Fizik Arione saddle, and Clement Crusade PDX 700x33s on a DT Apex 2.0 wheelset (but might swap the DTs for my much much lighter, and white rimmed, Mavic Ksyriums). She's gonna get drrrty! Alternative name suggestions welcome. I'm kicking around "Marlow" (Heart of Darkness reference).

@Erika, Marlow is pretty fantastic.  Congrats!!
My new beast. Ridley Noah Fast. Integrated brakes. SRAM red with cannondale crank. Wheels are Rolf clinchers - not sure what the race wheels will be yet.
@robertson. What happened to the cannondale?
I think it was a tiny but small for me. Never felt comfortable on it - was such a bummer. Had the seat all the way back on a setback post and a 12cm stem. This 54 feels amazing- the 'dale was a 52
That is the coolest road bike I have ever seen....as like in ever.  I like that it is all cable actuated stuff.  If you weren't such a pygmy, I would backstop all of your bike purchases by being the 2nd owner.  I would love to get my hands on this in 6 months when something else catches your wandering eye you bike slut.

...hehehhhh...Yacks called him a "bike slut." Love it.
I really do prefer "whore" guys, please, stay classy.
@Erika that is an insanely hot bike.  Nikita, for sure.  Besson, not Elton.
@Ericjred does it feel as fast as it looks?
@Ericjred Fork! That's a beautiful bike.
It feels weirdly fast. Different. I've never ridden an aero bike before - last week riding up the PCH with a crosswind I was holding 23 - 26 mph without dying. I've never felt faster!
Upon further review of that saddle...you should accessorize.   I give you the Italian horn...

Thank god, new bikes!  My bike envy was getting very low.
Erika, that looks awesome.  Congrats on the build, I'm sure it was a lot of fun and maybe it took a few band aids to get through (mine did).

And look at that Ridley.  That paint is beautiful.  Don't ride it!  It needs to go on the wall as art.  Umm, aero bikes need aero wheels. . . Just sayin. . .  When are you going to show us the pic with the 808/404 Zipp combo?
I've been scavenging ebay for months now and i've finally built up my first road bike. I'm torn between calling it the Millennium Falcon or the TIE Fighter, thoughts?

Nicely done. Great fork. You just need white bar tape to match the saddle!
@Wilson, Congrats on the beautiful build! Regarding her name, two great options but it really just depends... Is she the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy?
Nice Litespeed.  Mmmmmm
