@Gwynna, did you know that one of my ultimate sports mash-up fantasies involves Bela Karolyi with a bullhorn motopacing me up a cat 1 climb, at the top of which I catch a hail mary from Tom Brady and win the super bowl.

Also, I have a size small women's long sleeve jersey for sale ($66). Fits fine in length, chest, shoulders, neck, etc. but is waaaaay too loose in the arms. Like, potential manufacturing error loose. (Great sales pitch, eh?)

Anyway, it's this one: http://champ-sys.com/cycling/cycling-collection/cycling-jerseys/custom-long-sleeve-jersey.html#.Uz3RDK1dVug
@Yang, cue the 'shop of Erika's head on Froome's body...
Ladies I'm bored. When can we start riding together?! Weekday morning group rides will be starting up soon yes?
@Yang & @Jules call off the 'shop hit. I'm convinced of manufacturer error. There's no way this jersey would fit even a far less Froome-ishly armed woman. I'd love to contact them to see what can be done other than using it for base jumping adventures...

LOL
@erika - send me a message with a picture of the sleeves. I'll see what we can do.
First!

I don't wanna be a pirate!

@Wes I packed it up (along with every piece of KCC kit I own) for Battenkill, so I can stage a fashion show for everyone tomorrow. Someone will snap some flattering shots and I'll be sure to send them your way!

Yep - Emily is already registered, I'm planning to go but going to wait to the last minute to reg, and my friend Erica is already registered (SOMEDAY we will get her in the blue and orange!). See you there!
sweet! see you ladies there :)
Looking forward to it!  Besides the waking up.
Hey ladies! Since KCC serioulsy representing at the CRCA women's clinic (Emily, Anna Maria, Gwynna, KCC-friend Erica) I thought it would be a good idea to meet at Prospect Park this Friday for openers, followed by coffee and pre-race chats at Konditori in Park Slope.

I'll plan to bet at Grand Army Plaza on Friday at 6am, do 30-45 minutes at an easy pace with several short efforts thrown in to wake up the legs, and then get my cappuccino on by 7am.

(Although I wont be racing on Saturday, I will be in Central Park to help with pinning and anything else y'all need. Folks commuting to Central Park from Brooklyn, we can plan to meet up at BB and roll over to the race together.)

I'm planning on going to the crca clinic! Excited to get out there.

I'm thrilled to see all the interest in the women's clinic! Last year's race was was my first (non-triathlon) bike race, and clearly got me hooked on the sport. This year's clinic looks even more informative, and a perfect way roll into the summer race season!

I'm also excited to announce that KCC women's team director and mentor @Dale will be leading our Friday Prospect Park ride / openers session, and joining us for coffee chats at Konditori afterwards. So even if you aren't racing the clinic (and especially if you are racing the clinic) come join us! Rolling out at GAP at 6am, coffee at 7am.

So bummed I'm in Princeton this week. Sigh.

@Gwynna hope you can make it!
So @Erika, if we follow your lead and do this clinic, in a year's time we will be sweeping the Battenkill podium? ;)

Friday is usually my rest day, but I'll try to shuffle my workouts around to make this.  Tentatively see you bright and early Friday.

@Emily absolutely! I woke up one morning last April with a hankering for chocolate milk, and thought to myself "what's the most expensive and labor intensive way to satisfy this craving?" 50 weeks later...

I'm not a coach/trainer/mentor or otherwise qualified to give advice, but openers the day before a race are a good idea, better than a rest day or so I've been told. My routine is 45min-60min and consists of 10min warm-up (getting to PP) then 2min hard efforts every 10 minutes, and a 5-10min cool down (going home from PP). So basically a maximum of 8 minutes hard effort. Then I eat a bunch of carbs for breakfast and take it easy the rest of the day.

Hi Gals.

Its so exciting to read how all of you are out training! and racing! The clinic is really fun, even if you are not in the front pack, there are always other women to race since the turnout is large the field inevitably breaks up.

I'm at a point in recovery that I think riding 20-25 miles outside with a buddy (I prefer to ride with someone right now who would be ok to lead in order to lookout for danger like potholes and possibly pedestrians)

If any of you are going out and this sounds do able, can you keep me in mind? I live close to the gw bridge. and can sometime ride during the week.

I can be reached through the forum or you can call/text me 917-414-0454

Thank you!!
