I'm picking up Kevin at Tavern probably around 7:40-5.

Anyone else joining?
I’ll be there tomorrow! Leaving from Carroll Gardens, if anyone around needs a ride LMK
Woke up feeling not great, bummed to miss this. Take pics!
@CharltonSoesanto

Bummed you couldn't make it.
I rode out with Kevin W.  When we arrived at the velodrome Greg H was there.  Not only after Dave Yang arrived, then RJ.  Eloy came a bit later.

Neither RJ nor Kevin had ridden a track before, so they took some time getting used to it.

Then, we did

10m paceline, switching off on the straights.
10m paceline, switching off on the turns.
10m rotating paceline, through and off.

Bridging exercise, with two sets of riders separated by 200m  and riding at 20-23mph, depending on whether it was into a headwind or tailwind, one person left the chase group to attack up to the break, then started taking pulls in the break.

three-man sprint drills.  one person takes a 400m lap to get up to speed, then one person accelerates smoothly for 200-225m, then one person sprints the final 200-175m for the line.

good times.

Just wanted to follow up on yesterday’s session –

It was great meeting those of you I hadn’t met before and catching up with a few familiar faces. The session was super educational, challenging, and a big confidence boost as I work on building a solid racing foundation.

Big thanks to JP and Dave for leading the charge and offering sage advice throughout the drills.

Looking forward to riding with you all again soon!

Good times out at the track! Going through the drills without the distraction of traffic is always a treat. RJ jumped right in and was very quickly rotating smoothly in no time. Looking forward to the next group ride where we can expand on his skills and then see him in action at the next race!

Happy to put together another session if people are interested - it was really helpful doing this in a controlled space - both for those of us new to racing and seasoned vets.

Charleton - totally whiffed on photos, I was too busy trying not to go crosseyed staying on everyone's wheels!
Before, during, and after the leadout practice, we were talking about hte importance of communicating with your teammates during the leadout.

Here's a video of the Giant-Shimano team working for John Degenkolb at le tour de suisse.  You can hear the guys talking to one another as they're ramping up the pace in the final kilometers.
