The Kissena Early Season Day at the Velodrome (Track on road bikes)

I can't make it, unfortunately.

With the season upon us, JP will be hosting is legendary , Road bikes at the Track clinic.

Now time for us to get started. It is time for us to get better as riders, better as racers, better as teammates,

We'll be drilling pace lining. We'll be drilling attacking. We'll be drilling bridging. Blocking. We'll be drilling full-contact riding (on the grass infield for this one, we're not crazy). We'll be going fast, we'll be having fun, we'll be on the TRACK and we'll be together as a team.

The track is insanely fun. But also it's a safe, controlled environment. The track is ideal because not only is it away from traffic, but with the short lap we have obvious markers to use, especially for leadout practice. Also, we can easily watch all the efforts unfold from anywhere, whether we're participating in a drill or just watching.

WHAT
Road bikes on the track, skills, drills, teamwork.

Sunday March 18

Guys , looking for a show of hands here

I'm likely and may try to do the double with the 40+ race at Branchbrook. Anyone else interested in doing that - I can drive.
I'm game for Tactics at the Velodrome @mugwump

Not racing for a week or two.
I'll be there. good opportunity to work on leadouts. Who else?

I’m in
Anyone riding from brooklyn?
I'll ride from Brooklyn - going to skip Branchbrook. 8:45 GAP (or somewhere else on the way)?
Cross-posting:

I'm riding from Harlem to Kissena for the sunday track session.

I'll meet anyone who wants to ride from Manhattan at 59th street and 5th ave, at the southwest corner.

9:10 to meet.  9:15 to roll.
NYC half tomorrow morning. Start is at GAP. Avoid PP in the morning. Ends in CP tavern on the green. Avoid that park too.

Look at these handsome guys and their Giant bikes. Thanks to JP for putting on a fun and worthwhile day on the bike. Not only did we work on pacelines and leadouts, but we practiced bridging 200m gaps (that hurt) and did bumping drills in the infield (fun!). We even had one CX bike with road wheels for the event. No track bikes allowed. Looking forward to the race season.

Anyone going to the clinic tomorrow?
BUMP!

Looking at the racing schedule, it seems that THIS SUNDAY (aka June 23) could be a day for this.

Meet at the track at 9am.  We'd have about 90 minutes before people start arriving to warm up for the track meet starting at noon.

Any interest?

Scroll up for details.
I’m interested... I may not be able to stick around for the whole 90 minutes though
I'm interested, just need to check with the boss
BUMP!

Please use the "hotness" button if you are planning on coming.
The "like" button if you're on the fence
The "disagree" button if you can't make it.
I am racing said track event at 12 noon (Match Sprint day), I am also racing T-Town on Saturday, so I'm a maybe.
Not sure how to attach a pic as I haven't had luck here, but it looks like Sunday morning the track will be busy from 8-10am.

I traded email with Alan Atwood on this.

He thinks they'll be done before 10 and it's unlikely that racers for the noon meet will show before 11.

so, I suggest we meet at the track at 9:30, do some bumping drills in nearby grass, and see if we can get on the track by 9:50 or so.

Count me in
Peoples,
this is the easiest place to practice lead outs.  I know that's been an issue in races this year.  Hoping to help so that you guys can kill it at the end of races, or for intermediate sprints.

@JP Hameda is interested in riding out. Are you doing a meetup point in the city? She's coming from Harlem as well.

@HamedaMckenzie et al,

I was thinking of leaving around 8:30am.  I think it should take a bit less than an hour from Central Harlem.

Can meet up  here, at a spot in CP, or somewhere on the outside.

peoples, who is coming?
@HamedaMckenzie and all Manhattanites going out to the track,

How about meeting at 59th and 5th avenue, southeast corner, at 8:40am?  Roll at 8:45.

Anyone on the fence should absolutely attend this! Fun AND informative. Can you ask for more?
I live in Queens, so I’ll be netting you guys there
I’ll I’ll be there to join in the fun
