Hi racers,
The next Castelli Series Zwift race is this Sunday, March 29, at 10am.
HOW TO ENTER
- You'll need an active Zwift account. If you don't have an account, you can create an account at www.zwift.com
- This is a private race open only to riders who have previously raced in Prospect Park. You'll race against your teammates and other familiar names from the NYC racing community. Riders from around the world will not be joining.
- Click here to sign up for Sunday's race. It takes less than a minute. It's important you provide the email address you use when you login to Zwift.
- The deadline to sign-up is Saturday, March 27, at 5pm.
- Choosing a racing category on Zwift is different than a USAC category because it's based on w/kg. As a general rule, Cat 1-2 riders should choose the 'A' Category, Cat 3 riders should choose the 'A' or 'B' Category, and Cat 4-5 riders should choose the B-C Category. Here is the recommended w/kg for each group:
- A Category: 4.0+ w/kg
- B Category: 3.2 w/kg to 3.9 w/kg
- C Category: 2.5 w/kg to 3.1 w/kg
- D Category: Women Only (2-4 w/kg)
- If you sign-up for the race, you will be automatically entered into the event, there's nothing else you need to do other than to "join" the race when you login.
- There are no prizes. Virtual bragging rights only.
WOMEN'S RACE
As noted above, we're offering a separate women's race. Women racers, please share with your teammates.
RACE INFO
NYC racing is awesome but there is one thing we're missing: a course with a mountain. So this week's Castelli Series race features one of Zwift's most vicious ascents and it's no joke. We're taking on the Mountain Route featuring the Epic KOM, a 5.9 mile climb that averages 4% with pitches as steep as 11%. Pace yourself racers. Don't stay with a group that's climbing beyond your limit, better to back off, ride with another group, and chase back on the descent. This is a scratch race format and each group will be scored separately.
