Somehow figured that as it was a race the extra road was not part of it, specially as we went under a banner, that climb to the tower definitely hurt! ouch!
That was... fun? I got popped at the fucking line and decided to ride my dayglow pixel bike with two other randoms, who I finally dropped in the last 5 minutes of my field test. My eyes were closed so I more or less missed how it happened.

In case anyone is interested i was doing about 310 watts and was 30 seconds behind in a goddman blink of an eye.

CX starts, for realz.
who's in for Sunday? Debating which race to do.
In for C. I'm once again wholly unprepared for fake bicycle racing.
i'd be in for the C race. (please share the signup link :)
I'm in for the C race.

Did we settle on kit?
I believe "basic 1"
tomorrow, wear the bumblebee “basic 1” jersey.

not required, but if you can, orange socks orange hat/helmet

Anybody care to zoom/skype for this one?
That was harder than I expected.
that was a bridge too far for me today. Field test wednesday, hard intervals friday, hard ride yesterday... daddy needs a nap!
I ended up second after losing the winning wheel while changing songs on Spotify lol. Sort of like the indoor version of throwing your hands up in victory and getting caught at the line. That said, I was pretty cooked and not sure if I could hold that guys wheel anyways. I think he's the guy who beat me up the mountain in the last climby race.

It was a tough finishing straight though. The 3rd place guy sprinted past me a little too early and I got around him for 2nd.

Solid work by @TommyYork doing the damn thing in the breakaway and everyone else in the chase. I could see @Matt Budofsky hawking us down.
@RobertMullen and @TommyYork were absolute machines.

Loved all of us in matching kit today. We looked hella Sharp in the bunch (and it made not chasing down attacks only to realize it’s a teammate much much easier). Looked like everyone wen that’s today and I think we got some really good results
@RobertMullen i caught a glimpse of you and tried to bridge to give you a wheel but the legs did not like that idea
Agreed! Is there a way we can do a virtual cool down next week? Like going to Kondotori but in the cloud. I know there's virtual meet ups but I've never played around with it.
I think we can just all join a ride leader and do like Desert Flats at a nice chill pace
Yup that was fun and hard. Knew I couldn't hang so took a flyer up the first little hill to get the break  going and promptly fell right off the back afterwards - what else is new? @Thierry Bonnaire and I found each other and ttt'd together (this is becoming a regular ritual!) and @Jules hung with us for a while. On the last climb I tried to bridge up to the Spanish rider dangling 6 seconds I front of us but my legs were mashed potatoes by then and they seemed to saved an extra 20watts for the climb and I lost them halfway up.

Y'all scary ass monsters. Kudos.
I ended up 5th. Lost contact with @matt a bit on the climb but almost caught up. Nice finish.

Sent from my iPhone
where can we find the results? looks like the scoreboard was turned off... guessing because of the haute route load (?)

in any case, you guys looked amazing, Rob with the early attacks! Condon flying up the climb!!

and what's by far the most fun aspect: riding with you all, even if virtually! what a fun privilege. Cheers!!
Ask Charlie, don't see it in app or in the desktop /web activity details

That bridge by Tommy up to Rob's group was sweet. Set the rest of us up for riding wheels to the bottom of the hill. A lot of the guys that had to chase back in the group spent their pennies and faded while Jeff, Matt and crew hit the hill hard.
Yeah there were no rankings in the companion app which was funky. I think it registered as a group ride?
told myself I wanna keep it under control, don't go mega deep, cause ultimately there's a virus out there we wanna avoid... according to Training Peaks: highest 1 hour hear rate ever. oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

y'all are monsters...

yeah, I seen them do this when the amount and load is high (guessing the haute route made it so) because the counter can get buggy. I am sure Charlie is on it, and well, sounds like you all more or less know where you finished anyway.

I did remember thinking you were either feeling really good or had abandoned your plan entirely as I drifted back in search of cookies.
How do I get on this matching Zwift jersey game??
edit: was it the yellow / black "basic 1" jersey?
Ok, I've nailed my strategy for these races. start out hard and get into the lead group, then "accidentally" pull the plug on my connection. I totally would have won, if it wasn't for a bad connection.

yes. basic 1 jersey, and if possible: orange cap, orange socks
If you can’t do an orange hat or 100% orange helmet, @Jeff Condon and I rocked the black and orange Zwift helmet (I think it’s the original helmet you start with)
