Vollbach is there, and listed as a Kissena - but looks like he got dumped into the Cat 4 blue. I bet the promoters would try to fix this - this aggression will not stand, man!
Alyosha is in yellow. Perhaps they cap the team no's in each field to 9?
I think this is good for us. We have Ryan to protect in our race and Vollbach can shop his race... sounds like this thing isn't as much tactical, as it is a race of attrition... I see two winners in our future!
Aloysha and Vollbach got slotted to other groups because they listed their team name as something other than "Kissena Cycling Club". If it's too late to get these chaps reassigned to the white group, I guess we may have to win 3 of the cat4 races.
Yes. If we need a location for the chat, I can host again at my apt in Park Slope.
You should ask found this per their website:

No category/field changes after registration close on April 7, 2012.
Limited day-of registration will be provided, if space available per field.
Add $25 for day-of registration
Someone who's got Aly and Dave's numbers... reach out to them.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it. I'll be travelling for business the whole week.
Maybe one of them could take my spot in the white 4's field.
Also, my spot is open if it is posible to transfer it to someone else.
Good luck to all!
In the white field now.
Lol Kissena is racist
BTW, sick squad in the 4's! Almost makes me wish I was gonna be there...

Did someone talk to Vollbach?

I'd love a location around midtown manhattan at 6:30 to 7pm Tuesday, Wednesday this week if possible.
There was some talk of a community room at the new REI store. I think Stokes was looking into this option for future meetings.
Wondering what people's plans are for this weekend. I'm planning to drive up on Friday morning with Alyoshas and pick up numbers at some point. I would love to meet up with whoever's around to ride a bit of the course as a warm up.

Anyone have similar thoughts? Team dinner Friday night?
I'll be headed up Thursday night. team dinner might work but I've got kids in tow so fair warning :)
Gear recommendations? 39x28 suffice? Steepest grades around 14%(?). Supposedly dry roads (sunny two days before and overcast day of).
Unless someone can (pretty please) secure a midtown space, it will be brooklyn at Norm's place tomorrow night. 7? 7:15?
I'm using 39x28 this year
2011 used 39x28
2010 used standardx28
Talked to Ros yesterday he said you could do it at his office on 29th street but someone should reach out to him to confirm. He's really busy right now so he's not really checking in on the forum.
Yep, my office (W29th St b/w 6th & 7th ave in Flatiron) is definitely open to you guys if you would like to use it. Just let me know.
Mets are playing tonight, was gonna go to the game...could we do tomorrow? if not, no biggie.
Ros,

LEt's do it. What time is good for hte office on Wednesday? WHat's the address?
Cool... thanks for offering the office space. I will plan to be there, but there's a chance I may have to stay at-home to receive an important parcel (new race wheels!).
Great! Tomorrow is good. The address is 135 W29th St., Suite 1204 (12th Floor). Again, that's b/w 6th & 7th Ave.

You guys can have the meeting anytime tomorrow after 4:30pm. I can stay until 6:30pm (I have a client conference to attend @ 7), but technically you guys can start & have it going as late as you'd like. The office phone# is 212.925.0310 in case someone gets lost.
I've got a 50-34 up front, 11-28 in back. 39-28 should be fine; there's nothing like Devil's Kitchen at Battenkill.
I've got the same setup, however i feel like a 28 in the rear is unnecessary. I almost wanna run my 23 in the back.
I'll test it out on friday and go from there.
I've been reading that 36 chainrings are also a good way to go...
11-23 Tooth (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 21, 23)
11-28 Tooth (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 24, 28)

So going from the 28 down to a 23, you're getting a 16 and a 23, but giving up a 24 and a 28. The 24 and the 23 are nearly equivalent (there is only a 4 percent difference between those two gears), so really, you're just trading away a 28 and getting a 16 in return. Do you really think a 16 will come in more handy than a 28 in a hilly road race?
