I hope the weather will warm up during March in order to accomplish some serious training before the race otherwise it's gonna suck.
You want to race well at Battenkill, being smart is a big portion of the challenge.

I can help.

I would love to come to your tactics talk fest JP,  unfortunately I'm married to a very busy gal and I am stuck with childcare.

In case you didn't notice, the course this year is drastically different from previous years, including the start/finish being 20 minutes away from where it usually is. There's also a finishing climb, it looks like. Fucking Dieter.

I'm wondering who is going to this and what the lodging/ ride share situation is? I've never done Battenkill and am interested in trying it out this year. Anyone staying overnight the day before the race? I'm happy to split hotel or Air BNB for the night with some ppl.
Just about the register for the Cat 3 race and looks like driving up Friday night is the best bet to collect race packet at the Embassy Suites in Saratoga. Looks like the start line on the fair grounds is about 30 miles (36 mins) away so may make sense to stay closer to the start. Anyone have any plans yet?
No plans yet but would love to get a posse and rent a big place (if available) and head up mostly together.
Will be staying with family up there (about 15 min south of Saratoga)  But still haven't figured out transportation.
I'll head up the Air Bnb search. I'm also looking for a ride up if someone had room. Probably taking that Friday off work so we can head up and do packet pickup early and get a little spin in that night.

How many people are interested in a share house? How many bedrooms are we thinking?
Here are some videos from PCG of key sections if you have not been there:

These are poor quality as we were just using some clips in in other materials but can give you a feeling.  There are more on our YouTube Channel, scroll down:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpIxiS3BjOo7Jkugn-N1X-Q

These are great  @TimCusick thanks!
Battenkillahs,
If you weren't out riding your road bikes in the snow today, you lost a great training opportunity.

4 degrees, "feels like" -19!  the tires sounded funny on the snow.  16 PSI!
^love the flag in the background. Got on that Jeff!
Realizing that the time to nail down housing is probably now. I'd but up for doing a share (including my wife). If not, we'll probably just grab a hotel.

Also curious what others have done for the feed zones in the past, but I'm assuming that's going to be a new marital duty.
David Yang and me are driving up together and are looking at hotel and air bnb options this week. We may have Sean Miles ride up with us in David's car but he will be staying with family up there.

I'm open to splitting an Air BNB house but most likely all of them will be multi-day commitments (2-3 nights+) and we're only staying up Friday night, returning to the city Saturday PM after the race. Let me know what you guys are thinking.
Cool -- I'd be up to share if you guys find a decent AirBnB. I was just
assuming I'd stay Saturday night, but I guess that's not really necessary
thankfully.

Craig/Dave, didn't see anything on Air BNB, I checked out some hotels in Saratoga.  The Downtowner Motel is about 125 for the night for 2 doubles if its just you and Dave.  Its not the ritz but its a slight step above a Motel 6, had some friends stay there.  The good thing about it would be you could park, walk to check in and walk to somewhere a few blocks away as well in Saratoga for dinner.  Its about 20 min away from the start line in the AM. Dave - Craig offered me a spot for a ride up, let me know if this will work or you want any info on Saratoga.
@SeanMiles - yeah youre good to ride with us. Let's coordinate logistics offline.
I can't make it. If anyone wants to try to transfer reg let me know.
2nd offer - anyone want a reg transfer ? I am about to email promoter to drop out.

2015 is not going to be my year for this sadly. My favorite April race, but I'm officially as out of shape as I've been in years and eyeing an afternoon ride in the rain as the start of my third 2015 comeback attempt.
Hello everyone! So I'm a bit ill prepared for Battenkill and might not race.
At the moment I dont have a hotel, or anybody to drive with up to Greenwich. Does any one want to join me or can I join them on a drive up. I'll be leaving work at 8pm on Friday. If I cant figure anything out by Friday, I'll probably not go....So if anyone else would like to race in my place please let me know!
I am traveling to India for work on the 18th so I am not able to do this race either.
I'm out too due to lack of fitness. I've only got 8 weeks of training under my belt on account of being laid up for most of the winter w my bum knee. I'm waiting for a refund which will only happen if both of the cat 4 40+ fields fill up…. which ain't looking so good
A message from former KCC president Mike Perlberg:

I have room in my car and an empty double bed in my hotel room about 45 minutes from the start. If anyone needs a ride and lodging, I'm looking to share costs. My race is at 9AM so something around there would be good. I don't mind waiting around a little bit at the finish if you race somewhat later. Contact me at mperlberg@gmail.com if you are interested. Leaving sometime after work on Friday night.
