Thinking about doing the Spring Series Sunday. Anyone else?
Not going to let the weather stop me! I will still be at Bierkraft tonight at 8:30. And the offer still stands.

J
Hey Joe,

I'll join you for a pint. See you there.

Jim
I can do Spring Series.
I can be there by 9 or a little before...
I'm in for Floyd Saturday and Spring Series Sunday.
I agree that a proper breakaway will be nice.
I will probably have a good amount of fatigue in the legs as I have hills in my training plan in preparation for Battenkill. So I am not sure if I will have the energy to be in a break on Sunday, but i am down to help set up the Kissena Train!
i'm not doing any road races this weekend - all my eggs are in the Red Hook Crit basket

good lucks, my dudes
Also i am doing my hometown race on April 17 as I have a break from my clinical responsibilities. I know it is like a 7 hour drive, but I can hook some people up with housing. It would be cool to have teammates!

I will be at FBF
Think I'll be flying my freak flag at floyd....yack
I'm available for whatever the team thinks better so we keep John in his shirt!!
I'm feeling OK, haven't ridden this week, I'll try to see if I can ride some tomorrow night if the weather is better and some easy spinning on Saturday... Did a lot of climbing the weekend.
I agree that we should try a break mid race and then definitely setup a train for the finish line..I can try to lead you to the finish line...
Bethel on Sunday
Yacks --please elaborate on the freak flag phenomenon.
I am not able to race this weekend.
I am in for FBF. Spectating at Red Hook.

Sunday - not sure.
I'm happy to head off on a break. Lap 5/6?

Adam
Given the way my legs have felt the last couple weeks, I think I'd be better used helping lead out the sprint rather than an earlier breakaway. John and I were working on that Tuesday night, so I'd be happy to try it out in practice and put in a solid charge somewhere between the bottom of the hill and the last turn. If we've got 7 guys, we can probably do a real solid lead-out, eh?

I believe it is Freak Flag Fenomenon. it is all about alliteration.
Funny...I just know it as a lyric from a great CSNY tune......always assumed letting your Freak Flag Fly meant never cutting your hair......

Nope it is just being free, being who you are and not bending to THE MAN, but in Yacks case it means strutting out your Titanium
good point. guess it could be all of those things!
Waitaminit...that song is from If I Could Only Remember My Name! Is it also on Deja Vu?
So, so good...
Hendrix talks about letting his freak flag fly, too...can't remember the song.

Oh, and I'm not racing this weekend.
Riding big miles tomorrow with around two hours' total intensity, followed by calorie binge, followed by deathnap, followed by watching the Red Hook crit, which starts at 11 p.m. Sunday PP sounds like a tall order, but we'll see.

Btw, what do folks think about sending someone out to attack the Scotto's train a couple minutes from the finish? Make them chase it down and follow their wheels. Might burn em up and create some confusion.
Depending upon how Joe feels after Red Hook (he's going to turn into one of those 24 hour racers) and what the overall points are (anybody know?), I plan on just marking Francisco. Perhaps I could try something like this if I'm not burnt by that point. It's a good idea.

On a side note, Cancellara is doing it again. Hardly surprising, but unbelievable that everyone knows he's going to try something and he just destroys them anyway. And while it might not be exciting to watch someone time trial away for 20-50 km, I'm still amazed by his uncanny dominance. It's awesome to watch him bridge up to a group, drag them along, then drop them while they all look at each other like "Help! Let's get him! Unnngh, I'm completely blasted.... nevermind."
Race is at 6:30, not 6:45, right?
FBF was HARD. Mike P, Rene, Jan, Marc, and Myself. Mike was 6th, I was 8th. The tale will be told later.

More of the moment, SUNDAY.

Currently, it looks like it is just me and Marc. anyone else joining us?
Big shout out to Mike and JP and Jan. Those guys are TOUGH. You'll enjoy reading their race reports. Rene had a mechanical early in the race and I struggled later. I was fair for 15 of 20 laps, then I started to get dizzy from low blood sugar levels, and had to call it quits early. Tomorrow I'll come to play with a full tank and hope it makes the difference.
Nice result Mike and J.P. the winds were angry out there today!
jeez 47 miles in that wind? well done!
