This morning at 9:00am:

Got the Moderna first dose yesterday! Miraculously got an appointment after realizing on Monday that I qualify through working on a college campus. Shoulder is definitely feeling it and I'm feeling the slightest bit under the weather but other than that, just excited to have gotten it!

I got the Pfizer first dose today around 9:15am. My left shoulder is feeling a tad sore now... we shall see...

I guess to be expected? I assume that in the short term, vaccination will be with whatever is available, followed on by a combination of vaccinations to address weaknesses v some variants and longer term a continuing and evolving cycle of vaccination development and administration until a dominant but less fatal variant emerges which displaces all others. 

Regardless of the news above. Got my first Moderna shot today.

I've used that , but unfortunate i have to work , and they all come up same day appointments generally .
I will not join twitter 

I got mine via TurboVax. Took about an hour of refreshing but was able to get one the same week. New appointments show up all hours of the day.

BTW, NYS passed a law on Friday requiring employers to give their employees up to 4 hours of paid leave for getting each vaccination.

Idk if it applies to anyone here, but my mom was able to be vaccinated on long island through Northwell Health Hospitals because her GP is through that company. I'm not sure if there is anything similar to that here in NYC but it might be worthwhile to contact your general doctor.  

Getting my 1st shot Tuesday , navigating  those sites is like  hunger games

I rolled with a few friends in Central Park for maybe two miles yesterday.  One of them said he had gotten a number from a friend, called the number, and quickly got an appointment at the Armory in Washington Heights.  

So here in Fribourg, Switzerland, things are a bit behind you guys. Among the downsides of being a confederation in a pandemic are that Swiss indecisiveness causes delays. One would think that with all the pharma and money here, they’d be further with things. Much of Europe is around 6 weeks behind America, I read. I just found out yesterday that I could register for a vaccine, to get in line for when it’s my turn. I was surprised that this isn’t promoted in the press and on websites. Found out from a friend. So now my wife and I await. Hopefully by summer.

Seriously, good luck Nathaniel, not just for you, but your whole community. The sooner everyone gets the vaccine, the sooner we can all be safe and see each other. 

Got my second shot on Thursday, rode my bike there because, of course.  Today, Friday, I feel terrible, aches, pains, headache, my shoulder feels like a weight is pressing on it. 
But I know this is going to be worth it as the vaccine changes my DNA and gives me higher hematocrit levels, denser leg muscle tissue, greater lung capacity.

I'm sure ya'll are aware, in NYS anyone 30+ are now eligible to get a jab as of today. Your teenage children 16+ will be eligible next Tuesday.

While I can't find any place with open appointments today - makes sense considering they just opened the floodgates - I'm sure something will come up soon.

IT'S HAPPENING.

I'm super hopeful that by September we'll be down to the 12+ crowd.

Randomly found an opening last night and got my first dose today. Wife is scheduled for early May (sooner if she can find an earlier opening).

Hoping everyone holds on for just a few more months so we don't see so many unnecessary deaths and illnesses due to a 4th wave. Can't wait to ride with you all again.

Even though I have covid antibodies and am dually vaccinated, I somehow convinced myself I was a medical anomaly that infectious disease experts would be baffled by. I woke up with some on and off sniffles yesterday and still had them this morning. Of course, my rapid test came back negative and I was told that it is almost definitely just some bad allergies. But for a second I was ready to receive a call from the New York Times for an interview about a new Flatbush-based variant lol
