Yack-fu is reg'd! Same plan as last year, stay top 10 at ALL times and pray for legs in the finale. This race can be very difficult and if you get gapped its over. The U-turn is a critical spot...if you are too far back and 1 rider up ahead gets gapped...it can be race over for everyone behind him. Anticipate what gear you will need coming out of the turn and be in it before you hit the turn. I prefer to take the turn a little wide to ensure that I will be upright and rolling when I come out of it. It can be hard to get a good warm up for this race as well. Last year they kept us on the start line forever...which made the opening laps hurt bad. Dress appropriately...if you are cold at the start...that is a good sign as you will heat up quickly. I am hell bent on staying in the top 10 the entire race, so find my wheel and stay there. FYI I am lighter than I have ever been in February. I don't want to win....I want to work and get some high intensity race miles in. I have only raced the short course at Gant's...so I will not know what to do if they open the long course. Either way it will be a race of attrition. Giddy Up!!!
