Prospect Park Weekday Morning Training

Why the exhale?
The exhale gets you to contract your abs and also gives you a real start to your push for sprinting.
Hi all, planning on starting up with the group on Tues and Thurs; After doing triathlon training for the lsat 4 months as well as a nasty bike crash looking to do more bike training. Do we have a workout plan for this week or is it the same as the last? Also, when do most get to the park? Thanks!
This week and next repeat the workouts from last week. You're tying to do each effort better than last week. For the sprints you want to leave nothing ninth tank. For the TT efforts, you want the second as good as the first.

I was my fashionably late self this morning but caught up to Kayt & Jay. We did a few more sprints together and then Jay and I rolled around for an extra lap. Beautiful morning out. We also saw Big Foot, no, no I mean David Gardner getting in some TT/Tri bike training. That man can haul and is perhaps why sightings are so rare.

It's also nice to put in some really hard efforts after having taken the last couple of weeks on the easy side. I certainly feel my legs this afternoon.

Blergh - first morning out in a while.  Ran into Eric M crushing some laps and I think I saw Bruce not far behind.  Did some stuff that made me want to fomit.

Giant industrial machinery laying down asphalt by Kondatoridactylanation so I couldn't even get coffee.

Barbaric.
Yep, Eric and I did the two lap, 3 hill, stop at the playground TT.  He wiped the tarmac with me.  I only stayed for one.
My seatpost is squeaking on the Orbea so it's time for a clean and slight overhaul (but NOT by any means an end of season cleaning!  We are just not there yet.)

We also watched Eddie crest the hill and yell at a jogger, and when she said something back to him, he turned and growled.  It was entertaining, in a hey-this-guy's-gonna-get-us-kicked-outta-the-park kind of way.

Late start this morning, my last set of hard efforts before Tokeneke.  Didn't see a soul until Ed from United rolled up.

will try to wake up early for some tempo riding.
I was out this morning, albeit closer to 7, and was saddened to see not one Kissena out and about. August doldrums, perhaps? Or maybe it's just a function of my tardiness.

For anyone coming out tomorrow morning, just a head's up that I've invited a strong rider to join the session. She recently placed tenth at the Tokeneke Classic in CT in the Women's Cat 4 field, and that's after she lost her chain on a climb. She's heard me rave and rave about Kissena, so I'm hoping she'll have the opportunity to hear about the team from someone else for a change :) Hasta mañana!

@Kayt - I'd love to join you guys, but unfortunately I'll be prepping for the long drive up to Maine.  Hopefully the nice weather will bring out a good contingency of Kissenas...
I'll do my best to join you :)
I've missed the last two weeks because of work and seriously in need of a good ride.
Was trying to get out tonight but ran out of daylight. I'm definitely in for tomorrow morning @Kayt. 6AM at GAP?
Sorry that I can't make it tomorrow because I'll be in France....:)
Great @Joshua, and yes, 6 AM at GAP it is. See you then.

Bon voyage @Thierry! (and @David!)
@Kayt - I'm heading out to Floyd tomorrow evening for my merciless combined-field beating, otherwise I'd find a way to make it out at 6. This time of year, the 6 a.m. crew is going to be thinner than, say, June. I'd say your best bet is to rally up a good weekend ride turnout. Or get involved in 'cross!
Thanks @Jeff! Working on getting involved in cross, and actually posted a "want ad" in the marketplace thread for any leads on a smaller CX bike this morning. Until I find a suitable steed for the muddy courses, the weekend rides to Piermont are my jam.

You're extremely motivated Kayt and such a good influence, and I'm ashamed to say I haven't done any Kissena riding in two to three weeks though I've been riding my other bike to work every day. I hope to have a reasonably consistent presence on Sat/Sun rides through the fall, hopefully people continue with them!
Good times this morning; slept through my alarm but made it out for a few social and very nicely ridden laps of paceline with Kayt, Patrick, Eric M and Kayt's friend Ericka (sp?) who rocked her way to 10th at Tokeneke with a slightly "Froomish" bike position...

Aw man, i miss having my ass handed to me by fellow kissena's, all by 6:45 am.  Crazy travel schedules haven't made early AM's an option, and it's not letting up any time soon. dang.

Enjoy it out there, the weather is beautiful.
Ready to get back on the bike this week after a pretty long hiatus of being sick, busy work/life sched, and general lack of motivation.  See you all at the park in the morning.
I'm down for Tuesday and Thursday this week. I've never done intervals, so here goes nothing!

I'm going to put forth a mighty effort to come out, see you guys at 6:00 AM.
I'm in. See you in the morning.
I'll do my best to be there!
I'm going to try to make it to pp thurs 6am. hope to find you guys
It was a good ride this morning, with Kayt, Eric, Jim, Patrick, David, and Jules on his cross bike with big, whirring tires.

We did laps and hit the uphill hard.  The sun wasn't up yet when I left the house, but my blinky lights kept cheery company on my ride to the park.  Once it got light out, there seemed to be a pretty good crowd of casual, tri and racer cyclists riding about.

It was good to see you all, it's been a while since I went out on an early morning PP ride.
And then I rode into work in the rain.  I think I need to keep a spare pare of shoes or sneakers in the desk, just in case.
Good times indeed.  First trip out on "The Pork Chop Express" for the season and I loved every minute of it...

I finally found a good way to keep people from joining the back of the paceline; just drift to the back and swing a leg over with some frequency...

Now all I need is a Pink Bike...

Must have just missed you all this morning. Was about 10 minutes late and did laps with Jeff Condon at the exact same time as you. We were probably on the opposite side of the park the entire time.
