@Joshua - Did you head out there?  The fog was pretty intense.
Any one heading out tmrw morning?
I'm in for tomorrow morning. I punked out this morning when I realized how wet it still was on the street, so I'm itching to get out there.
@David I did ride to work though and that fog was crazy. There was one point on the W-burg bridge that you couldn't see either side of the river. Nothing but grey. Pretty great actually.
Oh yeah. 6am at GAP. See you there.
6am!?! Ok I'll do my best.
bummer im gonna have to bail. Hvae to be into work earlier than i expected. I do want to start riding in the mornings though. Sorry, have a good ride.

No problem, Andrew. Wasn't that bad out this morning, high 30's and very little wind. Hope to see you out there soon, and that goes for the rest of the usual morning crowd as well.
Right, the snow is melting off and things are looking warmer each day. After 6 weeks of no activity, it's time revive this thread.
6am tomorrow. GAP. I'll be there. Anybody been to Prospect recently? I see from the prospect evening thread people have been riding, so I assume it's mostly clear.
What's prospect?  What's outside?  Are there trees?   Ducks?
I'll be out a bit later (9ish) for about 90 minutes of endurance pace.

I was out for loops on Friday morning, and have commuted through the park a few times the past week and it's definitely been clear and dry with just the occasional wet patch for some time now.
Its clear.
Start getting the morning possee together once its light out and I'll start giving you guys the workouts.
I'm targeting the week of 3/24 as long as its above freezing at 6:00am.

I rode to the office at 5:30 this morning and it was beautiful out -  but looks like back to the teens later this week.
It was really nice in the park this morning. Mid 40's and dry, little wind.
There were two pelotons running and a group of 6. Gettin' downright crowded out there. What happened? The wide open space was always half the fun of going that early.
Saw a familiar face in Eric and finally met Jessica for the first time. Good riding with both of you for a couple laps.
And of course there was the blur known as Jeff.
Glad to be back at it and hope to see more of you soon.

I ran into the pelotons too - Luckly I've been avoiding the rush rolling out really early at 5:30a - most in part by work schedule, but I'll look for you guys at 6a at the top of GAP next time. cheers!
"The blur known as Jeff" is highly ambiguous on this club.
I'll stop by GAP tomorrow at 6 if anyone is interested.
Yeah, I'm in. Shooting for being at GAP at 6. See you there.
Oh, and this particular jeff-blur was Mr. Condon.

It was great to get out this morning. @Josh, was glad to see another Kissena out there riding early in the am. Especially on such a beautiful day as today! We kept on the peleton for a few loops. I stayed in the park for about an hour and a half in total today. Felt great. Can't wait for more morning cycling as the temps keep climbing higher and higher. AM cycling is my fave. Joshua Edwards said:

Sorry to  bail, my wife is sick so I gotta take the dog out instead. Enjoy!
No problem. Hit snooze one too many times so I'm gonna be late anyhow. Catch you next time.
Great weather this morning, which was extra sweet since it's supposed to turn ugly tomorrow. Saw Thierry for a hot second just as I entered the park, but rode laps with Erika and the much missed Bruce! Making his triumphant return to the outdoors! Glad your feeling better and look forward to more mornings.
Bruce is back!  I've got a hot cup of tea waiting for my first BVS "Morning Ride Report" of the season!
This morning was a last moment decision as the weather report before I went to bed showed rain in the morning.  Imagine my shock and joy to see a clear road outside, no rain, just salt and sand and potholes and litter.  It looked glorious! My HR spiked as I rounded up the gear I had put out for Tuesday's ride which I never did due to my new best friend, pain.

But pain is a thing we push through, like crowded subway doors, lines at the bagel place, broken hearts, and bike envy.  We adapt.  I redid my KCC shorts to put them on in the right direction (early season trainer rides are done in non-team kit because, well, I haven't earned the good stuff yet, so not used to them), and, geared up, brought my bike outside.

Oh, the joy, to press the button on my blinky lights for the first time in months, I could hear them chirping approval, to spin my front wheel, making sure the qr was closed, brake set correctly.  Same on the rear.  The tick tick tick of anticipation as my wheel spins.  The annoying beep to start my Garmin like a crescendo in Sibelius' Finlandia, music to my ears.

I have an uphill and I missed my clip.  I missed my clip!  So happy I almost burst, I laughed out loud.  Oh how I missed missing my clip.  Such a simple thing we practice and practice and finally I was free to do it.  Oh my God, my heart almost burst.

On the road, I had trouble concentrating, as I oscillated between old habits of focus and cadence, and realizing I was thinking about that.  Like someone talking through a movie, breaking my view of the story, but happy to have the company and maybe laughing at a comment.  I rode down 5th ave and turned up 3rd street, knowing I'd missed the 6am meetup time by about 10 minutes.

At the park, what to do?  Time trial?  Sprints?  Small chainring?  I'm in base mile mode, so I clicked into my gears and just rode.  And I felt like George Baily finally back on this, my first morning training ride in the park, Merry Christmas Movie House!  Hello first street light in the park!  Hello filled in potholes which I will remember when I race past you!  Hello jogger in my lane, let me give you some room, you ass!  Hello blinky lights on the Prospect Peloton which I'm passing!  I'm passing!  Hello surly Eddie Burlem with a clean-shaved face!

And there, in the distance, do I see correctly?  It's a stripe across the jerseys, it could be any jersey from here, it's dark, it's early.  No, I see it, there's an orange stripe.  Teammates!  And then the grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day.  Josh and Erika kindly folded me under their wings and, after a couple of solo laps, I pulled behind to draft and just ride with a big smile across my face.  I was home.

Good to see you Erika, Josh, and ride a few laps with you.  I'm looking forward to more early morning training.  I have more recovery to do, more peaks and valleys to navigate, but while it's going to cool down over the next week, a single, delicate, bud of spring has sprouted in me which I'm going to nurture into a mean, badass, overpowering, aggressive, winning placing sprinting bike racer.

Nice to be back.
Good to hear you're back on the saddle Bruce.
Not a big enough AWESOME button.  Great read Bruce, good to have you back.

Had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled today. I actually feel relatively fine this evening, but doc gave explicit orders not to do extraneous excercise for a week.
See you next week. 4 teeth dumber.
Ouch @Joshua Edwards
I'll be out there in the a.m. doing 2x20 at threshold... Thinking 730.
