I posted the above message a few weeks ago. Well, I thought I'd report back. If you ever wondered what a custom built steel cross bike built for a 6'9" rider and 26" wheels looks like,......well, that's it on the top of my car. I borrowed it from a very tall friend for an almost-as-tall-other-friend visiting town this weekend. If you are out on 9W mid-day tomorrow you may catch a glimpse of the freak show that will be Olivier (tall) and (mini) me riding around. I may refrain from wearing the club jersey for fear of embarrassing fellow members. Then again, maybe not.neilx said:have a friend coming in from out of town who would like to rent a decent road and/or mountain bike for a few days in August. Any recommendations of places he should try? (He's really tall, like 6"5", so that should make it more difficult. (And yes WDC and Brendan and David Yang- they do let 6'5" people ride with 5'6" people--it just looks funny--that's all.
P.S. the head tube is 26 cm.

- 1/2 tub of sustained energy (unflavored)
- 1/2 tub of recoverite (strawberry)
- 6/8 tub of protein (chocolate)
- about 15-20 gels of various flavor
- a bunch of free samples from hammer (various things in there)
- large white "roc loc" helmet
- small-medium nutcase helmet (women's)
- three saddle bags of various size
- medium BMC pro jersey (from when i used to ride for BMC in europe)
- some lights, some gloves, a cable lock, a bottle cage, some brake pads, some tyre levers and a tube
