eh... probably not the best fender for carbon but i've used on my carbon seatpost with no issues. it doesn't need much pressure to stay in place

Looking to replace the handlebars on my Cross Check. The curve down from the tops into the drops is too dramatic, making the bike uncomfortable to handle from the hoods. I'm not necessarily looking for anything fancy. Anybody got something lying around? 

For sale: my trusty Garmin Edge 520
Condition: good, but there are noticeable scuffs on the screen. they don't obfuscate the view of anything though – even when reading the tiny print on a cue sheet.

I've only had it for one season – works perfectly fine, I'm just finding with my bikepacking trips I really need the ability to re-route on the fly so I'm upgrading to the 820. If you're not familliar with the ins and outs of Garmin models and their features, here is everything about the 520.

Retails for $300, so let's call it $200 or best offer.

I have handlebar sthat came stock on my Giant TCX that you can have. Challenge is meeting up, but when we do I get TT helmet back.

 I have a stock handlebar that came with my giant TCX that you can have. The challenges for us to find a way to meet up. We have to meet up to return the TT home in anyway. Hope it worked out for you

In search of a headset tapered spacer:

• this is the part goes above the bearings
• 1-1/8
• height doesn't matter as long as it is functional

I believe I have one will  check when home but they are not all interchangeable even if the tube diameter is 1 1/8 based on internal spacing with bearings

You are right, some might not work. It is an integrated headset, so hopefully almost any will work, and at least attempt to keep dirt out.

I have one that should fit.  From a CAADX.  Let's arrange...I assume you need it for cx racing this weekend?

also redbeard can get you a long term replacement part. http://www.canecreek.com/products/headsets/forty cane creek is good, if you replace the whole headset, it will come as part of a system that has gaskets to properly seal against grime

You are probably right it might be worth changing the complete headset -- basically, the CX bike has something like this:

Thanks, yes. The problem solver's acts as a spacer, which is why I need the tapered dust cap.

You are correct, ultimately, the path of less resistance might be to buy a new headset and simply add the problem solver spacer/hanger.

     Some years ago, I got merely the upper race and integrated spacer from Ritchey.  I like it better than the Cannondale one which came with my frame.  I'm sure it can be ordered from Redbeard.

I know some folks who drilled their stems to run the cable through them.  A wider hole on top for the cable and stop, a smaller hole on the bottom just for the cable.  

But that's a old-school solution.

if I understand you correctly, sounds like you want both a short dust cap headset (cane creek short cover top upper assembly http://www.canecreek.com/products/headsets/forty) and this separate cable stop (http://problemsolversbike.com/products/cross_hangers)  

Do you want to move cable stop up or down?

Yes, Brendan, you are correct. Ideally I move the cable stop a bit down, but my goal is to keep it centered. Both the problem solvers or the fork stop should do that. 

Unfortunately the current dust cap/cable stop as one, pushed by the cable and stresses of braking, slides to the side -- which frankly, works fine, but is sideways so doesn't look sharp. 

Looking sharp is priority number 1.

Perhaps we should move this to the gear and tech thread, but I think that if it's moving to the side, the top cap needs tightening?  I'm not sure though--I've never operated or worked on that type of brake and frankly without seeing it I am not even sure I understand what we're talking about

Eloy or anyone else, in addition to what Brendan has,  I'm giving these away. Take offs from my caad10 caadx and supersix. Take them if you want.
