Let's mark him and the few other guys we always see in the Branch Brook breaks.  I forget his name, but the big guy with a beard in the blue/white kit was a regular player in the winning moves at BB as well.

I'll be doing the 4's. @Nial if you can get to jersey city around 5:30 I can give you a ride. I'll be using my bike shops van, it has enough room for bikes and people. Down side is that it only sits 2 so everyone else will have to sit on the van floor. Also I have to get back to Jc by 10:30-11am.

I finished DFL after my little solo deal got nommed by the field with 1k to go. Jim made a nice counter though and if the line were 100 feet sooner he would have won. The race was marred by neutralizations and even a five minute stoppage in the middle. Some poor dude from the earlier race had to get medevac'd outta there in a chopper

I felt like crap and raced like crap. Hopefully I'll be more useful next weekend. 

Yup. Front wheel apparently ripped apart and he was pitched into a tree. Thoughts and best wishes are with him... scary scary stuff.

The interesting thing about the 3 race was that even though we had a strong presence, we didn't have to do any work to try and control the race. Other teams were doing it for us. There was a lot of that going on and along with it, much of the strong/dumb guys going after moves thing. This allowed Konrad, Andy, and Craig to get off the front without much work. We were in some sort of move almost the entire race and we did minimal chasing when we weren't.

Konrads move was great. It was just that the field hit the breaks the second he was caught. Konrad and vlad summed it up. Disappointed/Motivated for next time.

Really unfortunate about the cat 5 Liberty racer. Hope he pulls through okay.

Cat 4 field had fresh legs all around due to the neutral and truncated laps. Got into a break with another Liberty guy and with the help of both our teams we stayed away for a few laps. Too bad we didn't have another guy or two to rotate with. Swallowed up 2 to go and was hoping Jeff W's or Wes's counters stuck, but negatory. Jim's flyer at the end was so close to being brilliant. I didn't have the legs or brains to stay on someone's wheel to sprint when the field closed the gap on him. Damn, that was a close one.

It was so close. Once I saw that's Jeff's move was likely to be pulled back I knew what I wanted to do. I put my head down and never looked back. But they caught me 20 meters from the line. In reflection I keep playing it over in my head - " I could have given it that little bit more" but fact is I was completely redlined and crosseyed. Ended up 9th. But we raced a good race and had fun. According to the Garmin we did a number of laps at 25.5 to 26 mph which seems pretty good clip for a Cat 4 race in April.

Met up with Yang, Ros, and Tim H for an intro to track racing clinic in the afternoon. My legs were toast but it was fun to get some quick laps in around the velodrome. Looking forward to some racing out there this year.

Dang.  Maybe Cat 5 races shouldn't have placings, so people won't go crazy sprinting for the finish and such.
