get your fun racing on...

If anyone wants to go, they can take a train to Great Neck or Merillion Avenue or Mineola and I'll pick them up around 3 and change.
anyone?
Eric,

I cant go tonight but I would like to do some races in the upcoming weeks.

j
Me too
Owens - you are underemployed...
Perlberg - you will, obviously you are out of town
Jan second
Me fourth
We each took a prime
Picking up where you two left off last year.
Nice.
Update from the road from Ragot (edited auto-correct errors), I flaked on this race at the last minute and glad I did, Eric took all the monies!

Small field, maybe 15 people. Went backwards on the course. I liked it this wsy as it is a longer rise to the fibish.

Took all three premes early. Three laps in a row actually. A break with Kenny hochman and Brian Wolff (local Strong guy) rolls off the front. Chase is ineffective. Nobody will help me as Kenny has two teammates in the field.

After getting frustrated trying to chase. I ease up, head to the back and go to close the 15 or so second
Gap by hitting it hard down the hill into the headwind. After taking 5 laps to bridge. Ouch... I made it.

Only 8 to go.

We held on, as I jumped from about 500m to go. My legs were cramping in the jump, but I held off Brian.

So, all the premes and the win.

Good work.
2nd tonight. Myles and I got the two primes. Fast active race. With three to go Roy Hutchinson and I went off as I was pulling duper hard to get the gap and get out of sight. On the bell lap the pack came back into view but I thought we'd still have it. I pulled as long and hard as I could, but was pedalling squares as I sensed someone challenging me. I was in the 12 probably a mistake, but it was all I could do.

We got pipped. Bummer. Myles laughed at me....

We're doing ok at Riverhead this year I count one win, three seconds and one fourth. I've got 1 2 4.

Next week is the last. Come race. Have fun.

Power numbers - Hardest Riverhead this year... By far.
Peak watts were all early, except for 10 min which was the end of the race move.
My power was remarkably consistent up the hill and finishing rise. As was my speed. I gave it what I could, but I guess my best wasn't good enough...

Peak 5s (1310 watts)
Peak 10s (1210 watts)
Peak 20s (926 watts)
Peak 30s (809 watts)
Peak 1min (567 watts)
Peak 2min (451 watts)
Peak 5min (371 watts)
Peak 10min (337 watts)
Peak 20min (261 watts)
Peak 30min (248 watts)
Peak 60min (233 watts)
Salude! Well done fellas. 1310 is some ridiculous wattage.
I'm out at some shit party in the upper east side and I WANT MY BIKE
No but seriously, riverhead's a nice race, did it yesterday and placed top 10 in the 4/5 race. Met a nice fellow named Myles from kissena there.
Christian,
How did I not meet you as well?
Eric
@ ragot you must have gone partially blind from all the insane watts you squeezed out of your legs...
I thought it an easy race even if it was faster than normal (by about 3/4 MPH).
It was an early attack where I hit those Watts. Not so bad.
Eric,

Saw you talking to Myles right before the A race took off. Didn't want to interrupt you guys as I'm sure you were talking strategy/mentally preparing. I'll be there next week though, weather permitting!

Christian
Supposedly I'm doing this next week. Hopefully 1300 watt attacks are not mandatory
Yes. 1100 Watt attacks will do fine.

The more the merrier.

Come help us complete our streak of winning everything.

If this race is canceled due to hurricane you are all still candy asses.

Happy friday
Didn't see you out there Eric! :p
HA!
I was doing my part for my move.
Myles took second. How did you do Christian?
I took 5th in the B race. Got out-sprinted in the end. I was pretty pleased with the result though. The pace was aggressive. We actually passed the A race and I was cheering Myles on! It's a shame you couldn't make it; I was hoping to meet you that time.
Nice work Myles and Christian!

Hey all, the end of Riverhead's season is approaching: http://krebcycle.com/articles/friday-night-racing-guidelines-directions-pg71.htm

I am planning on racing next week - August 17 : http://krebcycle.com/about/friday-race-schedule-2012-pg435.htm

These races rock. I will be on Fire Island beforehand, and will be driving from Bayshore. I can take two passengers if they want to take the train to Bayshore (or Babylon - I'll backtrack a stop). You can also train it to Riverhead and ride from there.

Great, fun racing. Period. No Pressure, just fun (though we have a habit of winning the premes and the races). Next to the Kissena only field at the Kissena Fall Classic, these are the most fun you'll have racing.

PLUS, you will be able to really race and try stuff out.

Let's make a good showing (I'll probably do the 31st as well).

Post if you can underemploy, flexibly employ or just want to play hooky that day.

Bump.

Anyone?

I'm in for the 31st
we should have Perlberg too! Maybe Lenny as well.
going to make this a priority as I'll be right next door at stony brook med school. Just hope the schedule and weather will permit.
