Welcome, everyone!  With all these new members, it looks like the only one left to recruit is Mr. Kringle, pictured above.  Unless we want to go full Gimli, in which case we should point our recruiting machine at these guys: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.714908475202185.1073741825.124754140884291&type=1

Myles, that's no way to talk to the new members.  There is nothing wrong with them.
hilarity. thanks for all the warm welcomes everyone! -- and, for the record i'd love to ride with papa-smurf (pictured above)

Welcome all! Gwynna, no need to choose. There are several of us who raced road, track, MTB and cross. The unfortunate reality of road racing in this region, is that every year, we seem to lose another great road race. And that leaves many weekends "open." I mean, there's always a Prospect Park or Floyd Bennet Field race but...well, too many of those can lead to mental burn-out. So I personally used track and MTB events to fill in the gaps where good road racing was absent.
Welcome Gwynna.

You should consider Iron Cross - 100k cross race in PA this Sunday (29th)!
Sounds like a perfect blend of cross awesomeness and silly length. And I'm sure there will be beer.

I will not be there.
No that was aimed at you!!! Don't you know how many watts a mustache like
that will cost you going up the hill in prospect park??

(And had my os update allowed the entire comment to post at once it likely
would have made more sense. Damnit technology ! (Shakes fist at sky))

Hi guys, I'm another one of the newbies, finally getting around to introducing myself.

I met some of you at the new members ride, and a few others this morning (also it turns out Bruce and I used to be co-workers). I'm new to cycling, just picked up a road bike this summer and tried a few of the Prospect Park races. Was also lucky enough to be in Kauai at the right time to do the Paradise Ride. Since 2005 I did weightlifting regularly, and for the past year or so I've been running in New York Road Runners races (I used to be a distance runner). No marathons yet, but I've done half marathons and a duathlon.

Looking forward to meeting more of you, doing more group rides, staying in shape over the winter and being competitive in races next season. Who knows, I might even try 'cross or track  :)

Also welcome to Renat, Mark and Gwynna.

Welcome Renat, Joel, Gwynna, Tim and whoever I'm forgetting! Mosey over to the Group Rides section to see what people are up Sat/Sun and weekday mornings/evenings. Can wait to see all of you out there!
@Joel - Nice to see you out there this morning.  Sorry I didn't keep up with you, was recovering between sprints.

And welcome to all the other new members I missed!

Thanks David!, I knew you where on an interval so i didn't want to crowd your space. Great to put a face on a profile;)
- and thanks for the welcome! cheers!
Hey all,

Apologies for being late to the party.  I rode in the Fall Classic, and in the Club's new members ride afterwards--thanks to the Welcome Committee.  I'm relatively new to cycling having ventured into it via triathlons two years ago.  Never actually completed a triathlon, mind you, as my first taste of riding in a PPark duathlon was so much fun I soon bagged the running and swimming.  Completed NYCC's ASIG series this past spring, rode lots in the summer, and finally got up the nerve to ride a race at FBF.  Four races later, I'm hooked and very much looking forward to next spring when the road racing season resumes.  I look forward to meeting you all.

Chris
