Thursday
this week
should be
good for me.
JP: cool

Jules: I'm not fast yet, just fat. 15 lbs since July. Just wait until I build up my R3 like yours! We can be the treefarm brothers along with norm. Eat your heart out trebon!
ROFL - we'll all get matching Pink Bartape!
Hey all - may be headed out today at 3pm if I can get my other stuff done in time. If not, tomorrow for sure.
Tomorrow looks like 10:15-ish at GWB. 56 degrees baby!
KHAAAN!

oof. tough crowd. where you going to, orchards?
No, I think everyone has to get back. Probably 65-70 from Brooklyn. Not sure about route. I won't be tearing anything up. Tired from 7 mile run today. Knees not so good anymore!
I'll probably ride south from up here and link up somewhere between the gwb and Piermont on 9w as you're going up north. As I get my fat ass beat up every little incline by everyone I'll just mutter "it's ok, you're a trackie. it's ok."
I need to be at work tomorrow by 11am, but I'm considering a 7am BB / 8am GWB ride to Piermont (which would get me to work in time). I feel too guilty to pass up this weather. Holla if anyone else is interested in tagging along. Endurance/Tempo pace.
Well, I never made it up to GWB this morning. Got doored by a van on 169th St & Ft Washigton. Bike is a little scratched up but fine, helmet successfully saved me from a sexy skull-fracture, but my knee on the other hand is banged up. Will find out later tonight if it's just a bone bruise or something worse. Fun stuff! Great way to kickoff a Tuesday morning!
fuck!

sorry dude

let's everyone take a lane whenever we feel like it
Bummer Ros, glad you hear you'r mostly ok.
Sorry about the door jam Ros --feel better soon!
Thanks guys! My pride is hurt more than anything. Knee is bruised & swollen, but not broken it seems. I will live to ride another day.
Agh Ros that sucks!!! Right in my neighborhood...give me the description of the van and I'll make sure to wave my fist at it threateningly the next time I see it around my block.
Sorry to hear that Ros - good job on the helmet though. What are you going to pick for the next one?
And sorry I didn't make it out this morning - got stuck inside doing work. Might pop out now for a quick RR run.

I went out yesterday at around 4.30, close to sunset - not the smartest, I know, but I was busy all day and needed to get out. Despite the annoying northside GWB crossing, it was an AWESOME ride - on the way out the setting sun was lighting up the Bronx buildings along the river, and on the way home at dusk a pack of whitetailed deer ambled out in front of me as if to say "see? this is when all the good stuff happens."
I made with Keith, Chabs, another foundation dude, and a chap named Jeff I think. Endurance pace on the flats and then hammering on the climbs. Chabs really twisted me on the climbs, he has like 50 lbs on me. All in all, feels good to feel bad. This is my strava data, which is me riding from up north to meet up, and riding back north to go home. Strava blew one segment we didn't actually ride, that's why the average speed is ridiculous. http://app.strava.com/rides/3770881
Ros, that sucks. I almost got doored coming back through Manhattan. Get a police report? I always do, just in case you discover a more serious injury in a week or two. Hope you heal quickly.

It might take me a bit longer to heal after an unplanned 80 mile semi-hammer fest with the aforementioned dudes (other guy was Bremer). When we first hit river road and were hammering along over 25mph, I asked Keith if it was going to be like this the whole ride. He muttered, "this is fast". Then we hit the climbs.....ungh...I could actually stay with Bremer for a while, but then the lack of fitness kicked in and I couldn't sustain the pace. Ungh... wonderful watertower hill, etc..

But the weather was as advertised! And I got to meet Mattie. Word.
Le Titio and I are riding tomorrow morning at 9am, meeting on the New York side of the bridge

Piermont and back
Thanks again guys!

@Jules, dunno, I have other helmets I have collected, but this Catlike Whisper Plus (only 6 weeks old) I fell with is actually in really good shape still, nothing cracked & with only a small, barely visible scratch, so I may just still use it.

@Jeff, no police report. Didn't deem it necessary at the moment, as my instant thought was just to get off the street & get myself an ice pack & to see if I broke anything. Maybe if it was worse I would have felt a need to. But you do make a good point. The guy was actually extra nice to me. Bought me coffee & actually called my cell later in the day to check up on my condition (not NYC-typical I would say).

The morning after will be the real test, but I feel decent enough tonight that I don't think this will hinder my training much this week. Just don't want to see any more doors for a while...
Headin' out tomorrow. 47 and sunny, so 10am GWB and probably longish but not too hammery. 70-80 miles.

Hello? Hello? This thing on?
I'll be there, then, but with some slower dudes who I'm trying to get to join kissena.

Feel free to ride with for a while and sprinkle some Owens charm into the mix.
Oh

I won't be there todAy, but I will be there tomorrow - saturday
Got some time tomorrow. Maybe just do 6-8 Alpine repeats. Anyone? Open to whatever.

Might be another Keith Chabanov Bremer hammerfest, but I dont have time for the 80+ miler so you're welcome to limp along with me at a turn off.
10 at GWB on Friday? Tito? WDC? Saturday looks slushy grodey.
