While today wasn't a typical meeting agenda -- it was a community building workshop -- this did not come up at all in person.

I'd be surprised if it eventually does, this does not appear to be the fault of any cyclist.  

I don’t understand these kind of blinkered comments; prospect park is one of the busiest parks in one of the busiest densest cities in the world. As a pedestrian, dog owner, or cyclist, you need to take care and observe the patterns and limits of the environment you enter. Cyclists are typically doing what they’re supposed to be doing in a park: riding in circles on the bike circuit. If you’re a pedestrian or a dog owner, take care when crossing or letting your dog off leash and don’t be surprised that if you try to do whatever you want in a part of the park that is not designed for that purpose, that something bad happens. If cyclists started riding gravel bikes through the great lawn during summer picnic season, they would be yelled at. Peds and dog owners need to start having the same type of respect we have for them so that everyone can enjoy the park together safely and productively.

And I can kind of understand why a cyclist didn’t stop to check on the dog they hit; I remember a year ago one of the Good Guys accidentally ran into a lady on a Citibike during morning laps. She was not injured, he stopped to help her and check on her, but she called the cops on them, tried to get their individual names, and tried to gin up a large public social media outrage about it. Why risk that for yourself when it’s not your fault?
