Prospect Park Weekday Training Sessions & Riding

I'll be there as soon as I can getaway from work... perhaps 7:30 at the earliest.
I'll be in there doing laps already, but I'll pop out to GAP at 7.
Sorry if I missed you, Chris. Waited until 10:20 and rolled. Had the painful pleasure of running into Keith and Chabanov, extending my "lazy" ride into something much more. But it was fun. Had never done the switchback climb before. I highly recommend it, since it's closest I'll ever come to riding in Europe. If I was only 10 years younger and 20lbs lighter...
hey, i sent you a text, might need to check to see if i got the right number,,,

I woke up today and thought i was sick, i think it was just dehydration. see you guys at 7.

ps sorry jeffff
I had a really good ride today. It was really good seeing all of you. After Nyack yesterday, hurt a bit more than usual, but i guess thats the point. . .

same bat time next week?
Lots of Kissenas out in Prospect Park tonight... nice to see and ride with you all. Hopefully I'll make it out a little earlier next week.
So who's up for a ride Wednesday night in PP? I saw John Malcolmson talking about something for the cat 5s Who else is in?

I know I need some practice doing leadouts and I'd love to see some other Cat 4s out to practice that.
I'm in for Wednesday night, fo sho.
I'll be there starting around 6:30.
it depends on the weather, but if its not wet / rainy then I'll be out leading a tempo ride at 7.
Eric
I'm in the same boat as Eric.

If a group of 5s and 4s are coming earlier I'd be happy to come out and log some miles with y'all and do some skill work.

Mike
If rain, I'll be training with Professor Kreitler. If no rain, I'll train with you fellas.
Cat 5er's, we'll leave from here @ 7pm tomorrow night:

Dan Reiners suggested we ride a few laps as a mob and then we break off to practice working together on leadout and paceline.

I pulled a couple of videos from last weeks CP Cat 5 race as reference:

For those of you who haven't raced Prospect Park before, the start/finish is usually around about here:

Looking forward to it!

Cheers, John
Cat 5'ers. I just checked the weather, and sleet/rain forecast for Weds night. So lets shoot for Tuesday @ 7pm Grand Army Plaza entrance grassy triangle.
In for Tuesday.

Brian
I'll try to be there... Probably later though.
I can't make tonight's ride, but what is the plan for the ride?
Given that it is Tuesday and that people are likely as fresh as they will be for the week, the advice is to get your sprint/jump training in for the week.

My suggestion is that you guys ride steady in a 2x2 paceline and every 5 minutes or so, someone starts an 80% sprint for about 8 seconds. NOT all out, but most of the way there. Just engage your fast-twitch muscles a bit here and there.

Eric
Eric, that sounds like a great drill—that's what you and Mike were doing on 9W the other day yeah?
If we have time I'd also like to try a couple of practice lead out trains for PP sprint: slowly winding it up down the hill for a couple of km until last two guys are maxing for the sprinter to come off the wheel.

BTW: fellas there's videos of Sat 19 CP race finish here: http://www.youtube.com/user/jimmybikeracer#p/u/3/53MxPt6cnkM

I doubt i'll make it over there by 7... but might head out for a bit after arriving home and will keep eyeballs peeled for you guys... unfortunately I did 15x1' on/offs last night so may not be feeling so sprinty. Hope to see you guys @ prospect.
The usual Wednesday Evening Ride is ON (as it is every Wednesday).
I will be at GAP at 6pm and will be doing some 20 min efforts that make you wish you were not doing them. However, you are free to sit on and after I am done, we just ride and can talk strategy, tactics, or any other subject.

The intent is to go for beer after.

I will be in the park until 8pm.

Eric
Might be a bit late but I'll be there. Looking forward to the 20 minute efforts, those are my idea of fun.
I'll be there.
Cold rain. Ride the trainer.
Se you next week
I'll be out at 5:15 or so, Mike at 5:30 until about 7:45
Eric
FYI: Gideon and I will be riding in CP tonight at 830. We will be doing a hard workout but all are welcome to participate/draft behind. Holler at me: 9175723741
Reviving this thread: I'll be out there at 4:15PM today, hopefully for about 2 hours.

Mike
This is the more recent thread.

I will join Mike at 4:15 for fun and frivolity. Actually, I am going to do a crit workout, so if you are racing crits this weekend (no reason not to), I will actually lead people over to Red Hook to workout if they express an interest.
Here it comes again - hopefully through the winter all the way to May...
When winter hits, we may move indoors for trainer sessions.

5:00 in the park - warm up, 1 hour tempo / SST, 30 minutes of endurance/low tempo, cool down. 2 Hours of fun. Bring blinky lights.

Anyone in?

E
I'll be out there but probably late, will roll backwards and find any kissenas on the road.
