It might be the beer talking but I'm seriously considering this for 2019. Of course, entry is by lottery now, so it's a bit of thin boast at this point. Anybody feel like a Kansas trip next summer let me know. It's about a 9 hour drive from DLH.

How many people DNF that race?  I've done a bunch of 24 hour mtb races on 4 man relay teams.  I can't imagine riding 206 miles on gravel.  I'm just not seeing it.  There comes a point when the mind and body go their separate ways...this usually occurs at around 150 miles...ON THE ROAD.  Not sure what a non-pro's avg speed would be but I'm thinking around 12 mph...so maybe 16 hours to finish.  Again...gravel....your taint is gonna feel like a 1,0000 fire ants are going to town on it.
I prefer not to do things that will take years off my life...the filthy Kanzayay is one of em
Sven Nys DNF'd so there...

But to state the obvious, the whole point is that it is stupid hard to finish. Finishing is a real achievement for any level cyclist. That is awesome.

Teamwork seems to matter too, teammates Ted King and Josh Berry rode together for a huge portion, dropping everyone, and finishing 1st and 2nd -- King dropped Berry at some point.

Katie Keogh rode the whole thing w/ husbad Luke. She would be the 1st women across the line.

I've done a 200+ miler on the road, 10K vertical, w/sleeping bag and tent. In the last 20 miles there were moments where I was tripping, but I think any Kissena who did a little prep could hammer it out. You're not gonna have to deal with Schermer's neck... but yeah saddles sores.

Speaking of the neck...

"Pocket Rocket" sounds too diminutive for a rider of her caliber but wow she is tiny compared to those other ladies.
The OVO WT has been a much needed distraction this last couple of days.
