if any body wants to watch the long Sky broadcasts of the Tour Down Under, this dude is recording them and putting them up on his youtube channel:

Finally, a heady piece on the subject. Lance gets CGI'ed.

I've never quite understood this about euro pros. Contador is in Mallorca, where the daytime temp is around 50-60 degrees this time of year, and they're riding in full booties, hat with ear flaps, neck gaiter, long sleeve jersey, jacket, tights, and *no gloves*?!? why?

i actually have submitted this question to numerous "ask the pros" q&a columns in cycling publications

it is confounding
Dan,
First of all, Majorca has been fairly cold this winter. They've had some lows of 30 and 28 Fahrenheit recently. Chances are, these guys are heading out at 9am and going all day. Could be chilly at 9, like 35f.

Here's the monthly observed weather from weather.com: http://www.weather.com/weather/monthly/SPXX0061

The sans gloves issue is a tough one. Considering that 'crossers are riding without gloves down into the 30s, we can postulate that it can be done. There is also the possibility that we're seeing these guys climbing. Many winters back Eric (ORiginal) and I found that if we pull off our gloves on long climbs for this area, our gloves wouldn't get so damp and we wouldn't need to unzip as much. Maybe these guys wear more layers on their torsos than we do in similar conditions and then skimp on gloves.

I just may be different. My hands get cold at warm temps. I sometimes need full finger gloves when I am still riding in shorts, jersey, vest and arm warmers. -2 Euro points for me I guess.
Got this from the Google Wattage Group.
Enjoy.

awesome... see the guy whose automatic response to the crash was to do a bunny hop... the blue guy should have bunny hopped too.
that was really fun to watch!
I can't wait to have "shorts & a jersey" weather, too.

i don't follow current pro cycling that much, i crawl under a rock and hide with the other luddites who savor helmetless racing and cafe raids...

but here are some of my favorites which i've put up on youtube. you've probably seen them before. First one is a short documentary about the 1962 TDF directed by Louis Malle, great editing and music. "bad fish"

second is an excellent example of time trial elegance.

Check out this video of Marc Madio screaming into his radio. The fact that he is currently against race radios is delicious.

As the comments section asks: Does Virenque's endorsement call into question the ingredients? I dunno, but it looks like either Predator blood or anti-freeze.

Never seen that one. Would love to watch the whole documentary.
Never seen this before. Not sure if it's awesome or ridiculous, maybe both:
