While we could try to do a leadout for the finish, it is hectic and chaotic. Jim Nelson had a great idea of doing leadouts for the intermediate sprints as it would give the team an opportunity to practice the mechanics. Who wants to try for the sprint? Who wants to be on the leadout train? I second having Jim as the road captain.

@jim_nelson if you get us up to the front I can put in a Max 1min effort at the bottom of the hill with Ricky/Erik on my wheel. Has worked in the past... @RichardC @ErikPfiffner

As Patrick said, the idea behind using the green jersey sprints as practice is that there are generally only a couple of teams really participating at those points and thus more room to experiment with configurations/timing. 

I think there should be enough time between the second sprint and the finish to recover if we want to do both. 

Let's get a roll call of who wants to participate and we can think about an order and timing.

I also think we have some decent horsepower at the moment to get someone in a break. Let's not ride for a sprint finish just because we have a sprint plan. Too often I see team shut down every single move because they just want to sprint. I think more breaks would succeed in PP if some of the stronger teams would just send someone up the road instead of using a similar effort to just shut down a move.

I'm pretty much useless in a sprint, so I'm happy to help get someone in a break. I'd rather see some fireworks mid-race than watch the whole peloton sit in for a big ugly pack sprint.

Only if it's windy will a break stick, and why sprint for green jersey points, is someone in contention for jersey? Attacking after KOM is a proven tactic to get a break going.

It's just you and me and 108 of our closest friends.

Dave Jordan has the most numbers, 11 guys, but I figure they're riding for themselves and most will be waiting for the sprint.  They've got four sprinters, and I expect each will be doing his own thing.  Stalin Quitero and Jose Guzman will probably try to get in moves.

Foundation is probably the deepest team.They have eight guys in the race and four of them are in the top ten of the series.  2nd Ralph Pahlmeyer, 3rd Boguslaw Wielgos, 6th Baris Aytan, 7th William Downing.

Constantin Schreiber is leading the series, but he has only two teammates, so he's largely on his own.

Rockstar has six riders. they can be strong, but they're often on their own.  They do have the second-placed guy in the points competition, Greg Hruby, and the fifth, Victor Gras.

Ross Baldwin is leading the KoM for Jamison, and has three teammates to set him up.

Brendan Offer is leading the points competition for Maglia Rosa.  But he's not in the race and I don't see his three teammates being able to do much to stop Boguslaw in 3rd and the others.

I"m actually 10th in the Old Man competition, not that it matters.  If i'm the first master tomorrow, I might move into 4th in that. Whatevs.

Foundation probably wants a breakaway, probably with two riders it, and Schreiber is keen to be in it.  He's got too many guys to watch and not too many of the guys in the top ten are breakaway riders.  Maybe we should also watch for Ismael Acosta of NYCC as he's fourth overall.

not gonna be easy.

That was a fun race (cat 4). We pretty much always had Kissena guys in good positions up front and did our part keeping the race fast at points. @jim_nelson did a great job getting us organized in the final lap. Nothing was up the road and I was behind @RichardCornetta and @JohnOlsson (???) on the right side of the peloton. A bit before the final hill, Jim came up to me and told me to get them up to the front. The pack was tight, but I managed to thread needles all the way up and got us in a good position. I was too gassed to help with a sprint and had to rotate off (sorry about that guys... not a good morning for me).

And huge kudos to @RichardCornetta for his 9th (???) place. Solid performance.

This Sunday’s L&C cup will be a little unique. Charlie will hold a moment of silence at the start of the race for Phil Ginsberg. Also we have black arm bands for teammates to wear in memory of Phil. 

I encourage members to come out either to race or to show support on Sunday. 

If we have anything like the numbers we did last time and at Dash for Cash at FBF we should work to lead out Eric and Ricky for the finishing sprint and discuss other team goals here.

A few quick notes for tomorrow

• As Patrick noted, there should be a moment on silence for Phil's memory at the start
• Within reason, let's line up together and towards the front of our fields
• Mark Taylor should have memorial black arms band. Find him, get yours.
• Wear the arm band on your right arm

For the racing:

• Ricky and Erik have been going well
• Let's keep them at the front and out of the wind
• Note their position on prime laps and on the last lap
• JP is all on his own on the Cat 1/2/3 good luck!
