@cpulvidente get some blue shorts and come join the 4s!
I got three more races left, unless someone wants to help me bribe some race officials.
Quite a few of us already signed up, but just a quick reminder that the next L&C is on this Sunday July 7th:

Gonna make my come back on this race! I'm having Charlie transfer the race that I skipped last time to this one.

Just gonna have a feel at the fitness. Probly just bouncing up and down the field, don't know if I'm really going for the W. Let's see you'll never know!
Our team for tomorrow:
  • Kevin Man
  • Niall Smart
  • James Reeder
  • Eloy Anzola
  • Joe Matunis
  • Patrick Grehan
  • Robert Mullen
  • John Olsson
So much firah hotness.

Strategy for tomorrow is simple basic:

Stay at the front, race from the front, be at the front. BE THE FRONT.

Seriously, do your best to stay in the top 15 the full race.

Else:
  • Patrick is our leader, we are racing to help him win!
  • Angelo Calilap leads the series but Vincent Ribeiro is likely to grab the lead at this race.
    • Angelo (5th floor) has no teammates, Vincent (Verrazano) has a couple
    • Watch for this dynamic, who from other teams is helping who?
    • Vincent is a better sprinter, so Angelo might look to get away
    • get in on it! pick one of them (Angelo, duh), help him win.
  • If a kissenista attacks and is brought back: WE SHALL COUNTER
Otherwise, let's have fun, be aggresive, stay safe, and let's go race bikes!!!
^ @Eloy Can we be more specific about how we get Patrick the W? Maybe Patrick you can chime in too.

Also, helping Angelo to win the series…

Quick race summary:

Fast race, spirited L&C race which is a rarity.
First time back racing from my crash at FBF.
Feels like fish out of water for first couple of laps, then back surfing like a shark after that.
Thought I have no legs, but really it was me fighting against my own mind.
Needs to be up more toward the front like Eloy said, but overall I got 19th.
Decided to do a seated sprint in the end cus it was a long one... But did hit 37mph sprinting that way. (Need to learn to be more up there, then this could be a weapon!)
I think the biggest fear of being infront is dying on the hills, need to reset my mind on this!

Lastly gotta give a big shout out to @JohnOlsson and @RobertMullen for going beast mode of the breaks!

These pics are rad, @Kevin Man !!

On paper, v bad result for me but I’m super pleased with the effort and sensations today. I got into two breakaways, one early one with @JohnOlsson and a guy from GF (I think?). It held out pretty well but it couldn’t go to the line. Then the KOM went and a few guys went up the road for it so I chased and asked if they wanted to try and stay away. They obliged, and we stayed away for another lap or so. A guy in this break from Attaquer eventually won the race. We got caught at the bottom of the hill and I was totally shot and couldn’t hang. Ended up riding with a guy from Attaquer and chatted about team tactics.

This is the first race in a while that I feel like I was able to animate and play a role in so that was fun. It went about as well as I think it could have given the past few weeks so I’m really happy about it.

One thing I think we really need to work on is counter attacks. It would have been awesome to see some Kissena’s firing off after those breaks were caught.

Sounds like we had some solid results in the Cat 5s too! Great work out there everybody.
Cat 5 was a solid race. The speed was a bit inconsistent- a pretty slow lap followed by a really fast lap. There was also some tension in the pack. A Pink Rhino guy and a guy in a Montecci jersey were getting into it and almost took each other down and everyone started yelling at them to get their shit together.

I tried to stay towards the front and surf wheels but every half lap or so I’d end up on a slow wheel, get swarmed and find myself towards the back of the pack. I’ve gotten better at recognizing when I need to jump on a new wheel but still some work to do in that department.

On the last last lap I attacked up the last third of the climb and put a little bit of distance between myself and the peloton. Coming over the top of the climb past the GAP entrance I was still alone (hurting pretty bad at this point) and I thought I could maybe go the distance. Unfortunately I didn’t have the legs and got caught but was happy I took the shot and tried to go for the win rather than just trying to hang on.

Overall sounded like everyone had a good time racing bikes today and we looked extra sharp doing it🔥
Awesome!!! Very encouraging!! Working to drop the weight and get in shape. Hoping to back out there soon! Long live Kissena!

Nobody but your mom or girlfriend cares once you’re out of the top 10.l ;) 11th is almost the same as 21st which is definitely no different than 31st or 41st.  It takes guts to race to win, and if it doesn’t work you’re lucky to finish. Keep swinging for the fences.

Your point about counter attacks is very important. Don’t ever let your teammates attack go to waste. If a break comes back and a Kissena doesn’t counter you’ve all lost something important - opportunity.
@Phil Maronilla did you customize your blue “short sleeve” jersey?
Thought about countering for a sec, not sure if i wanted to be in a break today.

Next time we'll have a more dedicated tactics.

But I can't wait to race some more now that im back! Gotta build that GUT to WIN!
Kev, those photos are awesome!

Quick 3/4 report:
  • Fast race today
  • 42.3 km/h (26.2 mph) sweeet!
  • Racers willing to attack and mix it up and race bikes!
  • Rob and John went hot hot hot staying away in an earnestly early good move
  • Rob continued to attack and attack most of the race -- definitely responsible for the fast pace overall
  • Team is racing like the firah
  • Niall riding the front almost always top 10 🔥
  • We are communicating well, at this point of the season clearly we know each other better and bettah
  • Kev would finish 19, I would finish 25, everyone else close behind
  • Post race would get a TP new hr threshold notification, unusual for Prospect, always an indicator of race hotness
Wearing the captain's hat, there's definitely things we can do a little better, but if we haven't already discussed them, we'll chat on the road. Same for anyone not sure what "help them win" means, ask me the next time we ride.

Again, awesome hotness job today.

Today was fun! We have real firahpowah, looking forward to more!!
@Eloy thank you for captaining, and I’m all for praise in public and criticise in private but how are we all to learn if we don’t discuss ways to improve as a team here on the forum?
Hey all! Next L&C race is this Saturday the 3rd. Please sign up to help with registration! Race for free. Thanks

haha would join you if i knew how to get out of the 4's
Why get out of the 4's? Cat 3 is where the amateur racer's career goes to die. 😅
I need to get the heck out of Cat 4 and go to Cat 2 or 3... #MOREPOWER
^pedal harder
Who’s doing 3/4? I’m game for either field.

So far this is the 3/4 crew, come race with your friends!
  • Ricky Cornetta
  • Kevin Man
  • John Powell
  • Richard Freeman
  • Robert Mullen
  • Eloy Anzola
Signed up to volunteer! Will be there to help @Kevin Man Win a race for us since he is too good for CAT 4...
Lol @ErikPfiffner never too good, always aiming to get better...

I can do some work early on the race.
What if we do a different tactic this time @eloy let's race like legion of LA.

Until about 1 lap ish to go we have rich erik rob me then rikky up in the front... If we have rob pull us on the climb and I paced the last half bits, rikky can pull us a win.

Might as well try something different other than just trying to stay up front and do your own race.
I 100% commit to blowing up.
I agree with 99% but to do that we still have to be at the front. Maybe not off the front. But that won’t work from 40 wheels back.

Id like to be active and animate some stuff but ideally like 5 laps later than last race lol. I *think* we’ll do best in a fast race rather than an accordion-ing one
I'll try to write a bit more detailed plan, but Rob has the gist.  B)

If we do the same exact identical efforts than last L&C, but do them later, when the race is harder, and from the top 15~20, we will kill and come up with results.

let's go race bikes!!
That sounds like a good plan and lots of fun. Good luck! I'm off to race in the Tour de Millersburg this weekend.
Any Cat 5s going to race tomorrow. I'm looking to chilling and then hopefully making a decent move towards the last lap, but I am game to work with some others.
