Holy crap, that was a crazy hard of a race- was seeing red before the end of the first lap. Kissena showed up though and got 3 in the top ten with @RobertMullen decimating the field and @TommyYork and me hiding in the field and surging for the line. Not sure where @eloy and @RichFreeman ended up but for sure was a hard effort by all parties
Jesus that was hard. I actually ended up second in the weirdest way. After like a lap or 2, a group came through and I thought someone was putting in a big move. Turns out it was the A or B group. I was going by my normally questionable strategy of #AlwaysBeCovering so me and another guy from our group made the jump.
I hung with them for maybe 1.5 or 2 laps when they gapped me on the lil Hill or something. The other guy hung on unfortunately and I was pooping myself for like 2 virtual laps while @TommyYork and @Matt Budofsky were coming in hot.
of the three Virtual Kissena races, this was by far the hardest, and strangely also not that hard, I came in with a bail strategy, where I would allow myself to get dropped, which is always the worst strategy and the opposite of my typical "death before dropped..."
-- when the group that Rob describes came by I was like no way pop pop pop, then rode relatively easy until Richard caught up and we rode it to the line at a sweet pace. Rich was 13 I was 14. Rob 2nd, Matt 3rd, Matt killing these races. Well done. Good fun!
I have no idea how any of this works. That was lots of fun though. Turns out attacking from the gun doesn’t bring about an immediate unassailable lead. Still going to keep trying it though. Also, I didn’t get any banana bonuses.
