It's time to sign up. These races sell out. All kissena riders MUST pre-register in order to receive the club discount (TBD).

40 and over field at the R&A Cup Series = whippersnappers not welcome !

Are we associated with the R&A series? Isn't "Kissena Sports," Greg Avon's venture?

Charlie I is taking it over.
Sadly I am out this weekend, so the cat 4s have to pick another road captain for this weekend. I promise to be back the week after.

Who is this guy????

Can't tell if you are serious.
Rode with him and Joaquin a couple of weeks ago.

these L&C races are making me realize that i should try to get to cat4 just so that there's a chance of getting a payout instead of a silly metal...and the chance to compete in nifty KOM things and schtuff.
@ Brendan
plus Ride BK discount goes up to 15% when you hit Cat 4
@Brendan - and your nemesis just got upgraded to a Cat4

obviously upgrade when you are ready, but the difference between cat 5 and 4 are remarkable.

prizes and KOM are cool (but once you split prizes with teammates, you'll get like $2 so don't get too excited)

These are the best reasons (IMHO) to upgrade

- longer races. 10 laps versus 5 laps makes a huge difference in the way the race plays out, it is just more interesting
- team dynamic: our cat 4 squad is awesome and you'll learn team racing tactics
- bigger fields. it is way more challenging to race in a 100 rider field.
- more out of town racing opportunities
Perlberg - don't you love me any more?

I'm out this weekend.  I've just been too busy to spend enough time working on my excuses for missing the break and/or not winning.  But I'm going to get more focused and I should have 10 or 12 of them ready soon.  Good luck to everyone racing this weekend.

MPerlberg - Don't know if that was a serious question about Eric Robertson; I think he was still racing for Kissena when you joined the club, but if it is, Eric has been on Kissena for a while, but was away most of the time the last few years.  Strong rider with a very good sprint.  Cat 2 I think.  I didn't know he was back in NYC.
I'm in for Saturday in the I/2/3.

I believe we've currently got: De Baca, Hubbard, Mueller, Partland, Perlberg, Ragot, and Robertson

in the 4's we've currently got: Duncan, Nelson, Grehan, White, van-Schalkwyk, Maronilla, and Zolan.

in the 5's we've currently got: Cyr, Tillman, Yang, Blum, Ortiz, Clifford, and Perner.

If we're going to have competing law firms, we might have to cut the names to three or four from the seven apiece.
@phillip yes i saw that.  he got fourth at battenkill.  i now pronounce him the nemesis of all cat 4 kissenas.  once i get around to finishing 5 more races, he can be my nemesis again.

@cat4's: look out for this guy.  see exhibit s, attached.
See the guy on the left in pic above. I've never seen bell bottoms on a rider before, but I like the look.
Perlberg - don't you love me any more?

I do! Just playing! Looking forward to riding with you
FYI for all in the 123 field, I'm not in shape. I'll be hanging on the back and shouting obscenities whenever there is an acceleration.
I'm out of this weekends L&C cup. Going to a gig Friday night on top of an exhausting week. Looking forward to racing in the park with you guys soon.
a helpful graphic for the CAT4's.  (sorry, the pun wrote itself)

Hmm, 39 and winning or placing almost all his races.  In one of them, he even placed 0.  That's pretty good.
Bruce: the race organizers were so tired of putting 1's next to his name that, for the sake of variety, they decided to list the number of people who crossed the finish line before him.
He was probably some Olympic nordic skier. Just to go completely stalkerish - he is the CEO of H&M stores in the U.S.

HAHAHHAA that's AMAZING. small world.

Craig: it's not stalking if they're your nemesis.  It's in the rulebook.
what makes this even more strange is that when i told my gf about my Scandinavian nemesis svenn mikalsen  (one must always disclose a nemesis, see the rulebook), she jokingly asked if he was the M in H&M...

Awright, I'm in for this week - after my requisite 3-4 days of "I hate bike racing" Debbie Downerisms after Battenkill, I'm recharged and ready to put a hurting on the field.
Ive put down the burger and got off the fence, see you on Saturday.

5's Any tactics?

@ashely - mark chris pino from wafels/ dinges, watch the ride brooklyn guys because they'll probably attack on the top of the hill with 2 to go, and avoid carl from toga at all costs.

if people are game, how about we (we being the 5s) meet up beforhand, ride and talk tactics?  i was going to get to the park for 5:30, register and then warm up for 30 mins... so rolling from the regi area for 5:45.
