To review, last week we had a strong start and first KOM lead out as well as 6-7 guys in place for a final lead out train when a crash derailed those efforts. We still had a nice result with 3 out of the top 5 places. We had a weaker showing on the second KOM lead out and being active in the late race “action.”
This week we are going to be laser focused on the lead outs. Stay in the front half of the field and follow wheels as you see fit, but conserve your energy for the three lead outs. If you find yourself in a break, by all means work it, but the team as a whole should be focused on using our strength in numbers to execute the lead outs. Start moving up to the top 10-15 riders early before the lead outs.
KOM lead outs:
Thierry, Niall, Mark I, Jeff and Ian should plan on being there for both KOMs.
Mark I - stick like glue to the Mineola rider’s wheel and come around him before the KOM.
Jeff A - sweep my wheel - keep an eye on who is on your wheel and allow a gap to open up between us before we come to the line forcing anyone drafting off of you to have to work harder to come around.
Lead out Rigby for final sprint:
Bruce, Wes, Dan, Valdi, Craig and anyone who still has the legs.
Wes - I nominate you to be the "lead out captain”
Everyone else (except for sweeper) should slot yourselves in front of him and Brendan. Listen to Wes as he yells at you to pick up the pace, keep it steady, etc.
KOM lead out guys are encouraged to contribute to final lead out. Guys slotted for the final lead out can help with the first KOM, but should NOT help with the second KOM. Keep your legs fresh for the finish!
Guys to watch:
The two guys with most yellow jersey points are Edikson Pena (in Yellow) and they enigmatic Baris Aytan (I still don’t know what he looks like). Let’s try to keep them off of Brendan’s wheel and out of our final lead out.
We should keep the Mineola (Louisgie) and BVF (Saul) riders from getting KOM points. I am more worried about Louisgie because he has a nasty kick. Keep an eye on them and cover their moves.
If anyone does not think they can fulfill their role or has questions, ask!
We’ve got a strong group of guys but our strongest assets are the depth of our team and ability to work together. Let’s make this race ours!

Mark - KOM's are announced randomly by ringing a bell at the KOM point on the lap prior to KOM sprint. That said, given the total number of laps of the race the first one is usually on the 3rd or 4th lap.

We've got a good gang amongst the 98 registered thusfar. Expect a sellout 110-rider field.
Condon, Dale, Jules, Ryan, Ragot, Stokes, Vollbach, and me.
The field isn't as collectively strong as last week, but it still possesses plenty of breakaway riders. It might not be as ballistic early, but it will still be pretty fast. And a break is still very likely.
I don't think it's a top priority, but I'm still tied for third in the old man competition. Dioslaki I think has the lead and Wilson is close, and I'd love to either move up on those guys or at least solidify third. So, if I'm in the field on the last lap, and you're there, too, I'd love some help setting up for the sprint.

There is a guy who just came to the cat 4 fro Triangle Cyclists: Jesus Martinez, he will be riding in South Shore Cycles kit tomorrow. He is a beast, he can go to break away by himself and survive. He is passing to cat 3 but for now he is the one to watch. he won I think all the races in the Cat 5 he started and he was 4th at the BEar Mountain in cat 4.

Thanks for the heads up. I noticed two South Shore guys at Bear and was took not how powerful they were given they looked like pure sprinters. I didn't realize one of them placed 4th. Point him out to me and others tomorrow morning.

I saw Tom Cippola in the results too...I was on the Triangle ride with him yesterday...don't know how people recover as I am feeling cooked today and there was no way I was getting up at 4:45 am and clipping in.
