Floyd Bennett Field

I'm a MAN first!

Good job, duder.  Double high fives.  Six Cycle....Heh.
Damn PBerg. That is impressive.

When Ricky is yelling uncle you know you are in a different league.
Perlberg was looking impressive tonight.

That guy Hoffman is a wattage cottage. I've been in a break with him and he just throws down redonk power. Definitely a pro level talent, but too bad he didn't start riding younger.

Smallish 3/4 field and I tried to get in as many breaks as possible. Some mountain biker dude solo'd a lap out, and after United shutting everything down all night for JJoseph I wasn't interested in helping bring him back. Fitness was all over the place. Didn't mean to put McKay out of business by going hard at the start (doh!). Went for the long one in the finale and was doing OK but flatted on the final corner, held on for 2nd in the bunch sprint — sweet as!

Note the top of the course is like riding over a garbage tip. It really is crazy pants — rocks and shit are flying in your eyes, potholes, mounds of dirt — it's not fun. Definitely want a clear lens and some wipes to remove the Biggles face. Also metal tires.
"Some mtb dude"?   you mean  SASQUATCH !!!!

^called it!

I saw him line up 30 seconds before the race started. As soon as I saw no jeans I knew he was going to take it.
was dropped in surge in the start of the second lap at FBF 3/4.  Spent the rest of the race alone trying to catch the field.  how the hell do the pro's take like 2 minutes to have an accident, and then catch the field?  crank it up to Improbable Speed Drive?  anyway, it was an excellent workout!  and somehow i dont feel as bad about being dropped as i did in the last race when i was dropped from the masters, and for like half of my races in the beginning of last year.   it's just great to be out there kickin' it with all of the other lunatics.   my spare tank of rage is starting to fill a little bit.

big congrats to Pberg and Malc for making the Kissena mark on the place!
The Model has won 5 of the 13 races he's entered this year (and 5 of the last 8).

Has anyone started a year this hot (and I'm not talking his body) in New York?
Brian did last year

Are there USAC upgrade points for Thursday Floyd races?
I think it depends on the field size
Sick hitting the lap button photo.
With Savory closing fast enough to knock the camera out of focus.
Where is photos?

@Craig

if you place in the 123 field, then yes.

pretty much using 3/4 races for upgrade points doesn't get you much ever.

a couple reasons

1) you can't race in the Thursday night 3/4 field as a 3 unless you are 40+
2) if you were allowed to race, you can only count the # of cat 3s in the field. Horrace doesn't publish deep results so they're pretty much not useful.

FWIW, I won the 3/4 season series 2 years ago as a three and didn't use those point towards my 3>2 upgrade.
@perlberg I remember the leadout that won you that series, that was a solid Kissena pain train!

What if there are?

What if there aren't?

Do you remember how we all ganged up on the old man setanta team??? EPIC.
10 of us taking turns boxing him in and attacking the shit out of that one strong guy they had AND WE WON A CAAD10 FRAME WHICH I STILL HAVE AND SURVIVED BEING REARENDED AT45 MPH ON I'M INVINCIBLE AND A GOD
The all caps won't help you next time.
^ It was indeed a Setanta wood shed beating.

Aiming to make it out there today. Who else is down for some 3/4?
New rule in place this year for the 3/4 race - If you're a 3 and your racing age is under 40, you have to race the 123. Just like on Tuesday Nights.
I might try to get out there this evening. Depends on work. I'll decide for sure later this afternoon.
I'm down for the 3/4. Is there a "usual spot" to meet up for the spin there?
Yeah, what time does the train leave from GAP?
And does anyone know the longer/safer way down there and want to go that way?
Bummed to no-show due to flat tire. Extra bummer because I had been bugging the park people about all the rubble and they just emailed to say entire airstrip swept this morning!
