^ long sleeve skinsuit is where it's at
My office is on Flatbush and Nostrand... I get to watch everyone ride by. It's a bummer.
Last night was a classic FBF death march. Super windy, and I've barely raced this year, so the speed was a bit of a shock to the system.

Can't say we had much impact on the race, but we were low on firepower too w/ only me and Vlad and we held our own.

Here's how hard it was: power peaks were nearly identical to what I did two weeks ago at Branchbrook - but that day I helped drive the race long winning break. Last night it took nearly the same just to not get dropped.
^ Nice, looks like you were in breaks Ryan, or is that a chase?

How was the "swept" surface?
I was near the front of the main group for most of the race but never in the break.

I thought the surface was good - a little loose stuff on turn one but no scary gravel patches anyplace else.
That was the swept version? I'm still picking gravel out of my teeth.
Who's running the gauntlet tonight? Looks like I'll be there.
Yep. Cold one today.
Windy and freezing out there. Smashed the field in lap three to make a seven man break. Fairly fast pace as we had the 123's in sight. Lance went early (hey that's my trick!) and it turned out the guy sitting on had a handy sprint.

Vlad was doing some recon in the 123's.

My new tires now have three seasons left.

Anyone heading down to the 123 race?

I'm pretty sure I won't home from work in time to make it, but if some others are racing I might have an incentive to cut out of my meeting early.
I'll be there

well duh.
From now on, I'll just post when I'm not going
It's going to be a windy feast! Good luck!
Hoping to make an appearance.

BTW the course is thoroughly swept. Now the gravel is gone you can see some Roubaix worthy ruts.
3rd in the headwind sprint by missing JJ's wheel in the corner. Slow race, lots of maneuvering and light on attacks. Anyone know who these 5th Floor jokers are? And what exactly is on the 5th floor?

Woj was there getting his fitness back. Btw when Woj isn't touring the entire continental US on his own, he's a builder for hire. Holla.

Vlad was riding 28's, dubious clearance photos please Vlad.

This week the gravel was fair to partly chunky.
Christ John, you're unstoppable out there.  Chapeau!
@JohnMalcolmson‌ what were the 5th floor guys up to?
@Wes Nothing major, one of their guys has been watching too many match sprint videos.
I'd say jokers... Heavy on the internet presence, a lot of time spent matching accessories, instagraming, and I'm sure watching match sprint clips. Show up at the track a lot in the past year. Fifth Floor is a fixie forum in the UK, This is the corresponding team. Meh. I spent a large part of the track season racing t-town then came back to these guys running around.
Anyone have an opinion on whether racing will be flooded out today? Saw this post from Alex Kock on Strava.

"Prospect Park is all flooded. Do you think the race in FBF is still on?"

Race is on. It's official.
By the way, Alex K is the author of the "dumb girl" video
I'm bailing on this one, it must be completely bonkers out there. Bring your waders.
This fucking thing - http://www.mudrunguide.com/event/new-york-city-new-york-epic-fail-challenge-2014/

... made the course really interesting tonight.

I'm surprised my wheels haven't exploded yet.

p.s. wasn't that wet Johnny. Floyd drains exceptionally well.
It's baaaaack. Green and yellow jerseys up for grabs tomorrow night. I'd like to go after green.
... Also, I never heard a peep about this, what was the team prize we won in the 3/4 last year?

I'm down for the series, although I might have to miss the inaugural tomorrow.
I'm in for this as well, but I'm also most likely out for tomorrow,
unfortunately.
