Interesting comparison to Mike. I felt like crap (Saturday's race probably had something to do with it) but in spite of that, I paced myself well to really pick it up the last two laps and set new power records from 8 min all the way out to 22+ minutes. So, I rode hard, but man, was I slow. My bike had clip on aero bars (which didn't get me much lower than on the hoods or in the drops, so I could have done cannibal), disc rear and 50mm deep front. Regular helmet, skinsuit and booties.
My take away? Either I get TT bike with better position to make me more slippery, or come into a TT fresh and put some power numbers out that make poeple's eyes bug out, because if I went this slow with the power below, I am doomed.
ITT
Time 22:50
Distance 9.6mi
Kj 467
Avg Power 341w
xPower339w
Max Power 992w
Avg Cadence 88
Avg Speed 25.3mph
The TTT on the other hand is interesting. My legs still sucked, but the numbers tell a different tale.
Time - 25:16
Distance - 10.9mi
Kj 469
Avg W 310w
xPower 310w
Max W 694w
Avg. Cadence 95
Speed 25.9mph
I spun more as there was recovery. The speed was higher, despite more headwind.
But the most shocking thing is the difference in the distance, and therefore speed numbers of me and Mike. 27mph to 25.3mph - 9.55mi to 9.6mi and then in the TTT - he had 1 more mile than I, thus the 26.4mph to 25.9mph?
I dunno, something off between our computers. I am running my data through Strava - the ITT was with GPS on, so let's see - that totally didn't help.
So, I think I did what I could do.
I just did a quick zoom drag thing in golden cheetah, my numbers are by no means perfect.Well, try a slow drag...
Re: the first & second efforts - per my coach's guidance for Killington: a 25 minute TT requires three to *Four* times that in warmup to get the most out of yourself. Not knowing how much warmup you guys got it might be the first TT opened you up for the second.
Re: Bug-eyed numbers (Eric) 340 watts for 20+ minutes has my eyes bugging, trust me.
not enough warmup.
Ken Harris doesn't have a son. just a developments Rider - Morkal-Williams , Sam I think.

we don't look too bad here:
