Hi All,

Both the forum and the www.kissena.info went down hard this weekend; it looks like both are up again.

Not many people know this, but the "dot info" site shares hosting with http://www.fixedgearfever.com/ and we are very grateful for all the help and support we have received from Scott over the years. After days (nights) of working to restore things from the smoking wreckage, he personally rolled up his sleeves after 11pm last night to get the forum back for us. Thanks Scott!

Scott "brought the love" so that we can bitch about potholes in Prospect Park and ask one another questions about tire width.

All that said, we have been planning a move to a more modern website and hosting for some time now for several reasons:

1) stability and maintenance; we want a site that doesn't require as much hand-crafting
2) integration of social - kissena is on:

Hi All,

Our current host will be upgrading the hardware our forum runs on sometime today. It is possible the forum will be down for 10 minutes while this happens.

Hardware upgrade complete; some people reported issues of being unable to post or even get into the forum, or an error message after posting.

In case of further trouble, the Yahoo Groups site will be our backup forum: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kissena/

You can learn about the status of this forum and continue any conversations there until things are resolved here.

If you do not have an account, then go to that URL and click on "Join This Group". Assuming you are a member in good standing, you will be approved for membership.

Unfortunately, you probably have to register for a yahoo account in order to do this.

I get this message lately a lot after pressing "add your comments" although it always seems to add them, when I go back to reload the page:

A lot of people are having this problem. Scott, our host is working on fixing this latest problem with our dot-info forum/website.

FWIW posts seem to be going through properly, dire warning message notwithstanding.

Or browse to local image file using the "Attachments" field below. I think there are file size limits. Jules seems to push these to an extreme. Make sure number of pixels is reasonable (i.e., 1000 pixels in the x direction). JPG and GIF format certainly work. Below is a GIF that is 320x200.

Hey guys, now that I'm back its time to stir some shit up. Just kidding, but-

Can someone update the actual kissena.info stories? With all due respect to those working on a new site/ layout, the last story is from last year with just an update on the 2012 racing season.

I'm not sure how much traffic the page gets but I've been constantly asked about nyc racing by people on my tour and about the team. They see kissena.info on my (our) jerseys and I'd assume go to it only to find basically nothing.

We have good writing up on this forum, why not just c+p & edit some of it and share it? Racing with Moser would have made a great blog as well as all of our recent wins & placings.

I understand facebook and twitter is all the rage, but a website just gets more attention, and since we have one why not make use of it?

Just my 2 cents! I'd be more then happy to contribute writing as soon as I get situated back

i ABSOLUTELY agree as a relatively new member must say it is was and still is both frusterating and anoying that Kissena a team/club with a web site pasted on out jerseys does not have some/several sorts of auto updates on the Kissena web site.
&there is soooooMuch cool stuff going on and some great writing /by members.

at very least we(Kissena site) shoukd be the goto place for Kissena sponsored Race info/ cancelations/ results/ etc..

Everything you're saying is right.

In addition to the members who worked pro bono developing the new website, there are several board members working hard to iron out these issues. I know it seems easy, but its actually more complicated than you might think. And of course everyone has limited time.

However, it will get fixed. In the meantime, many thanks to Joe, John M, and Rich, who worked very hard getting the new site designed, and to Jules for all the work on cleaning up our web presence generally.

More good stuff to come soon.

By the way, did anyone notice John Vaughters replying to the KissenaCycling tweet last night?

A: No. www.Kissena.info will redirect automatically to the new domain. Follow the link on the NEW WEBSITE to the FORUM to log in.
Q: Will my login to the new forum change?
A: Nope. Same as it ever was.
Q: Will we lose any content from the forum?
A: No.
Q: Will the look & feel of the new forum be different?
A: Yes. We are upgrading to the latest version of Vanilla (our forum software) so the colors & layout are different.
Q: What's new on the new forum?
A: Lots of stuff, including posting & reading via email and a mobile friendly format. There will be a new thread to cover all the new features.
