I've got approval from my family. I'll be there tomorrow!
Same for me! I'll be there working for John.
Tomorrow I will be there and with me I bring.....wait for it.....GYMKATA !!!!!
Don't forget daylight savings! +1 to the clock.
So cool to be racing in November—there's even a CP race next weekend! Thanks Christian, Eric, Yacks and Joji for riding for me. Pre-race huddle was: mark the threats, attack if you felt it and then setup for train at the end (I was feeling a bit iffy after night of Vodka on Brighton beach). I guess not the tightest plan in hindsight. Christian stomped it out of the blocks, created a gap and immediately dropped a couple of riders (sorry Carl). Yacks took away the most agressive rider trophy by being up the road half the race again (the man's a trophy magnet!). Could have been in a 2-man break if his counterpart hadn't given him a sucker-punch. I was impressed by Eric who rode up along side me when I was on the front, to tell me he wasn't feeling good (-350W). As usual, the selfless Joji rode the entire last lap on the front, which tempered any last lap antics. It was just Joji and me at the end (Yacks at 15 sec). Lead out the sprint, got rolled by BH on the line for 2. Jaime took enough points to bump Vlad off the top spot, I kept 3rd in the series.

Harry fought hard, but had to settle for second in the C5 series and was robbed, unlucky, not to take away the Most Agressive Rider trophy. If you've watched Harry tear up the Cat 5 races at Floyd, you'll know that he's had a big Danger High Voltage sign bolted to his helmet from day 1.

123 Jermaine beat out Breach for the series.

Props to the Burrowes Bro's, SheepsHead Bay Cycles and Mangoseed for making it happen.
'Nuff said, I declare on all your behalfs "GYMKATA!!!!"

Harry "DHV" is a great nickname, fwiw...
Yes I agree Harry got jobbed on the most aggressive trophy. Nice result for John after spending the previous evening wetting his beak on some Dutch courage. Was that Christian dropping it like it was hot on the 1st lap??? That hurt everyone as I don't think anyone had warmed up. Anyone hoping for a parade lap was mistaken. Being the shameless opportunist I am, when Horace said I had a shot at the most aggressive trophy I went for it. Attacking each lap before the start finish worked. It also kept the race under control. If I was up the road it meant no other team was. On about 7th lap I bridged up to a solo rider but he jumped when I got about 10 yards from him. Normally this would be a good thing, as I would have a free ride, but I just could not close those 10 yards and the field swamped me and spit me out. It is very cool that Horace is holding these races. Road races in November, how great is that? The fields are small too. Oh and my kids were there cheering me today...how could I not attack when I was passing them on the course? Yack-shameless-opportunist-fu
one more thing......GYMKATA!!!
Pre-race huddle, I said I would animate the race

yep, fun to be out this time of year still trying to figure-out how this racing stuff works, had high hopes of picking up some points on leader sammy torres ahead of me by 4pts for either a win or tie in series, but instead was played like a fiddle by sammy field &likely myself by not realizing a need for adjustments to plan as race proceeded; plan was to sit in conserve& get away in last 2-3laps, instead, went out hard for lap1 of 8, then tried to fall back into pack of 12, no doing where ever i went so went sammy T, he stuck to my wheel like glue, and when i slowed the 'pack' slowed, lap 3& manny frias attacked @start finish as i bridged up i carried the whole group, so i, wrong-mindedly, did let him go &made 4-5 attempts to recover then get away which basicly left me out front ofthe pack for 3/4th of the next 5laps; tapped and played i sprinted early(too early) for 5/6th place finish w/sammy T a bike length ahead 'again'. so, lesson learned, either attack or go full stop &be good/strong/clever enough to win at the sprint finish! in between assures 'you lose'. see you all in the 4's!

I could be talked into sprinting for a few $15 primes, and doing a few leadouts for them too.
Just so you know, this is effing brutal. Horace has been subjecting us to this 'prime on every lap' madness these past two Thursdays... and that's only for 16 laps. It's sick. It brings out the animal in you. Honestly, I was telling Whitey on the way back last night that it was the hardest thing I've done on a bike. The last time I said that was after stage 3 of the Tour of the Catskills.

While chatting with Ricky Lowe after the race last night he said "I never thought I would hate primes." Believe it.

For those that were there, it feels just like Bound Brook (except without the turns, seriously, WTF?). Pain train.

Anywho, I'll probably be there because I want to know what it feels like to blow myself up into oblivion... then wait for the field to come around and do it over and over again until I'm reduced to a blithering gelatinous mass.
This sounds absolutely horrible and I will, under no circumstances, be attending.

I will absolutely be there
I am sorry I'm not a 3 now.  That sounds absolutely preposterous.  And fantastic.
I mean, how can we be expected to do 92 miles of racing at Floyd? The course is 2.3 miles around, yea? 40 laps?

Won't everyone have flatted before the race ends?

Feed zone? How can I do 92 miles on 2 bottles?

What bothers me is not that, but only that 6 guys have registered at this time.
Sounds like a guaranteed top 10 finish to me!

You can ride with 5 bottles.  Heck, for 92 miles you can stop and re-sew your tires when you flat...
Can we get more 3's involved in this? Anyone else keen?

I'm in
I am in for the 5s.
Christian Refakis - you should pre-reg - I don't see your name. It says pre-reg ONLY , closes at 10pm tonight, though with #s this low, I wonder if they will accept day off just to get enough to make a real race.

I wonder if this is running - 20 pre-regs total as of 6:40am , (seven in P123, seven in the 4s, six in the 5s)
I talked to Horace last night and he said he would run it regardless how many people registered.
Ha, 92 miles at Floyd. I can't imagine why no one is registering!

There is no chance in hell that I would ever enter this race. However - I look forward to the reports!!
@Ryan J

you could just ride until you've won back enough to pay off your entry fee. Call it a race pace training. You know some guys will eventually not contest some of the sprints for cash at $20 a lap you just have to win 2 sprints and you've broken even.

Yes, but my insanely competitive constitution would force me to do the whole thing and try to win.
There is no final win in this type of race. like a points race you could come in last place on the final lap but by accumulating enough points in the race you take a win. the winner is the person who took the most primes. You probably could outlast many of the clowns in that race.
8th place and $0. Race report by request.
