Would love to but already sent the note out to the group - 15 on the list but confident in ~4/5 which lines up with the number of Kissena' down to attend...

It's gonna be funking freezing in the morning, might want to do a gear check. We had a Meet Kissena a few years back and a guy rocks up with no gloves and a Kask aero helmet with visor. Must have been -3C. 

That was a fun Meet Kissena Ride this weekend! Loads of prospective/ current members showed up and rode steady and chatted for about an hour and a half before heading to Konditori for some mud. From my perspective, everyone seemed responsible and a welcomed fit to the team.

I agree with @RobertMullen, we had a great turn out of prospects and members. The few prospects that I spoke with seem eager to join the club. On another note, we were able to show the prospects how we look out for one another by waiting for James at the triangle while he fixed his flat before getting coffee. I think we made a good first impression  .

there were no prospective new riders today, but still a pretty good time and ride, specially considering it is 30F out

Given a lot of interest in the club, the board has discussed ways to onboard new members in light of COVID-related challenges.  In lieu of our traditional Meet Kissena rides, we are considering the possibility of very small intro rides with 1 member and 1 prospect at a time — mainly to answer any questions and make sure they can handle a bike properly.  This would obviously need to be done as safely as possible — following our protocols, maintaining some distance, wearing masks, etc. — but it’s impossible to make this totally risk free.  We are also working on a way to vet some of these folks beforehand so that we’re not wasting our time riding with anyone that isn’t a serious prospect.

We have over 25 people currently interested in joining and can certainly use some help.   So if anyone is interested in (and comfortable with) taking part in a 1-on-1 ride with a prospect, please reach out to me on Slack or email membership@kissenacycling.com 

We expect to start this process within the next few weeks.

I scheduled a new member/meet Kissena ride for Sunday, March 24. The plan is to meet at the GAP triangle at 8:15, after the Verge race, and ride a bunch of friendly conversational-pace laps. We have around 15 prospective new members who've expressed interest in joining. Please come out and ride with us and welcome them!

Man, wish I could make it!  That'll be a big ride.  If you can only make it for part, still come out and ride.  The more members we can get out the more likely the new folks are to join.

16 invitations were sent out to people who emailed an interest in the club in the last couple of months. I don't imagine they'll all turn, but they might! It will be great to have as many active members as possible.

@Joe Matunis I can make it. I don’t have any Kissena gear yet to rep, and haven’t really been on any other rides with you guys yet except my first new member ride lol, but if that’s all cool I’ll swing through for some laps!
