Embrocation, yay!
If I get top 100, will hotlist spell my name CAESAR ?

I'll attack with vengeance, lets see what happens.
Hotlist now adds "Caesar" to list of names hit cannot spell with any reliability including "Michael." Sorry bro-heems...don't take my idiocy as an indication of anything other than an indication of my level of, idiocy.

Stokes, Enterprise in Fort Lee, NJ open for business.
Enterprise in Fort Lee not open for business on Sunday's.
Also, issues are bigger than that. Think family man. Don't think I can bring myself to leave my wife in the dark despite her protestations.

Gotchya...guess impromptu romantic getaway to Northampton not in the cards. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your power comes back soon!
Hey for those you not following Myerson on the Twitter. He says about the course conditions:

"By the way, it's already dry here. Soft enough for traction but no mud. Fangos"

I'm more concerned with power & gas on the way there & back.

Google Crisis Map looks pretty ugly

Yeah, gas is my big concern for getting up there. Sitting on a quarter tank and nearly all the places around me are dry. Eep!
I spoke yesterday with friends who live 15 minutes from the venue. No issues up there. Perhaps biggest concern is having enough gas to make it far enough away from the city to find gas stations not effected.
Hey Konrad, pre-registration closes at 8pm tonight...

looks like the cat 4s is already full though...
I'm going to pick up a rental car tomorrow. If I see a gas station that's open I'll give everyone a heads up. My instinct would be to head north in Manhattan where we didn't lose electricity. I live on 157th and there's one just around the corner...and then there's also Inwood...several gas stations up there. Todd has a car north of me a handful of blocks. Maybe he knows what's the gas situation in his neck of the woods.
Sarah says, Shell at 181 at Amsterdam reportedly has gas.
I'm out. Jeff can have my b&b.
I'm reg'd for Sunday. Was thinking I'd be working on Friday and couldn't possibly make the Saturday race so I didn't bother registering. Maybe I'll use the day to hunt for a local station to fill up at.
Well, I had a car reserved for today but I just got a call from Hertz saying they have 0 cars available in NYC and will not have any more for several days.

Chinatown buses to Boston/Cambridge are almost all sold out - I see one at 2:30 pm but that's too early.

Theoretically we could try to take the train to Boston but that is subject to "delays". Sounds risky.

Anyone have room for me + Sam + one bike?
Derek, I might be able to help. Give me a call: 646-431-3256 Joaquin
For alternative rental car agencies, check out Avis in Jersey City (located in the mall), and/or Budget/Avis in Fort Lee, NJ (Enterprise NJ is out of cars...well, out of cars that have gas). You might get lucky.

Hotlist hopes everyone is able to enjoy their weekends despite the madness that is recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Hotlist also feels bad for not checking Sunday's registration lists and missing Konrad Ratzmann from the break down. So here goes:

For those of you who don't know Mr. Ratzmann, he's one of the club's young guns and can seriously motor. Crossresults predicts a 37th place finish for him on Sunday in the cat 4s and it's hard for Hotlist to disagree with that. The dude dusts off his bike after a year away from crossing, and busts out a solid 20th place in the cat 4s at HPCX. BUT, jumping in to a race as crazy as Northampton, after a long time off, might catch him off guard if he's not racing "heads-up" at the start.
@Marc- Do you refer to yourself around the house in the third-person as "Hotlist?"  "Hotlist is going out to walk Penny." "Hotlist is hungry." (Just wondering how committed you are to the persona.)
Am reading "The Tin Drum"
The protagonist, Oskar, refers to himself in the 3rd person sometimes. So Marc is in good company.
Question is, can he singshatter glass objects and does he play the drums?

bubblecross in NJ is cancelled.
Ugh, after making it onto the Hotlist I am afraid that the gas and power situation is making it more likely that I'll be left in the cold this weekend, though I am still going to cruise around tomorrow morning in the "empty light" danger zone in hopes of finding a place that will let me buy more than one gallon. That being said, is there anybody interested in taking my spot on Sunday if this doesn't work out? If there is anybody, I'll e-mail ASAP.

What are the odds on SICX happening?
gas situation should be better tomorrow. for a lot of stations, it's about electricity. Others are about actual gas. Government, is allowing tankers into harbor now. this is going to date me, but "phone first" before you drive around.
The race in West Milford, smack in the middle of the land that time forgot, postponed Sunday's race to next Sunday.

Thanks for the heads up, just registered for it.

Announcement of even/odd gas rationing system means I definitely can't get gas today so I'm stranded here. Good luck to all you guys racing this weekend and I hope to see you at SICX and/or Bubblecross!
Spoke with Andrew at NYVelocity bike shop about SICX. They will decide in A day or two. The park sustained some damage but is usable. Currently a staging site for emergency workers. They are looking for alternatives, either diff site or date. Should announce in A day or two.
Looks like there are some good shots of todays racing in North Hampton.

Great work guys, wish I coulda joined you :)

Uhm, Marc did you kill & skin a muppet to make gloves out of?

Not sure about the Bertucco household, but the Northampton crew strictly adhered to the Hotlist nomenclature.

LOL. Every time I buy some proper long-fingered cycling gloves, I get about 2 races out of them before one disappears for good. And I always lose the same one, so I can't even mix-n-match and yet, 4 years later, I still have the Muppet gloves.

The 5 of us in the Cat 4 race this morning all finished within 52 seconds of each other. I like that.
