Yes, which is interesting to me because everyone wants to say how great a job "Austin" did at making a nationals course (tree issue notwithstanding), but the fact of the matter is if anything, "Boulder" did a good job of designing the course. Plus, he's the same guy who did last year's nationals course as well. I mean, I'm glad that they are not letting some rookie Cat 4 from Austin design the Nationals course, but it is a little disingenuous to give "Austin" credit for something they actually did not do.

Will Webber be hired for 2016 in Ashville? 2017 in Hartford?

Again, I do appreciate the fact that a pro course designer is making the twists and turns, it does take something away from the uniqueness from year to year of CX nats by having the same course designer, no? I mean, it's necessarily always going to be different because of diff't venues...but still...

Tim Hopkins of NC Grand Prix is doing Asheville course. Last 2 rounds of NC Series being held at Biltmore Nationals course this weekend as dry run. Had planned on going myself and taking GoPro footage of course but my brother bailed on me. 56 degrees forecasted in A4:2?-""2 6+3 Saturday/54 on Sunday.

I've already spent way too much time on Etheridge gate on FB and twitter. But, it's kind of a hoot in a non-offensive way; primarily because he is so clearly wrong on so many levels, and yet supporters of his point of view are equally unrelenting.

One thing I learned in my years as nurse, trying to speak logically to some upset patients and families, is that sometimes, "you just can't talk to or reason with crazy."

Honestly, a lot of what Etheridge is saying resonates with me. Guys race the elites all year long against the top competition then show up at nationals and swipe all the single-speed medals? Super douchy. It's an open race, though, and there's no rule against being an asshole.

Etheridge's point is that he and the majority of the SS competitors participate in SS events all year round and keep the event going. It's a dick move to race in the Elite field, never show any support for the SS event during the season or do anything to help it thrive, then show up at Nats and take the medals. That behavior doesn't scale, as we say in tech.

I would not call Katie Compton a dick nor do I consider her past UCI race avoidance a dick move considering the circumstances.

Isn't that what happens at every nationals? No one got mad when a certain pro raced all season in Europe, returned home and crushed the domestic pro's.

The circumstances for Lindine, etc, in single speed are essentially the same.  They had a priority of UCI races, because that was their job and helped with their goals.
