I'll probably be at Whirlybird racing the 45+. I was 43rd at HPCX so just missed some points. Looking like a stiffer field than HPCX so not holding out much hope for a higher placing but we'll see. Definitely gives me something to aim for......

I don't know how many of you are quasi-obsessed with crossresults points, but if you need extra motivation to beat that one more guy, it's worth noting that the smaller races the differences between one place and another can actually be worth big points. For example, in my 25-ish person rider fields this past weekend there was a 10 point difference between places. And that's pretty significant when the algorithms churn and the math starts to happen.

In this case it is specifically related to the "original" run/ride-up at Anthony Wayne. He talks about following distance and the choices you make when racing in a crowd. The advice is true for all similarly challenging features.

A cursory glance doesn't reveal any major KCC players in the overalls, but with relatively small point spreads, and 3 races left in the series, there's surprisingly good opportunities to move up for brag'n rights.

Bubble Cross this weekend, and Westwood's race at Anthony Wayne in Harriman State Park the following weekend are the next two races in this cup series.

1. It's because people pretend cross is different. 

2. Myerson was a raging asshole when it came to his relegation at Battenkill last year.  And he's a bully on social media.  That he acts differently here demonstrates he's got the same problem.

1) makes no sense. Which people? From what?
2) he was super pissed at Battenkill but didn't cross any lines imho. As for bullying on social media I disagree. He calls out trolling but I've not seen him bully people. To the contrary he spends much of his time standing up for little people

1. from "the world."  Your statement, "It's a crying shame we don't get to see more of this in the world" is a trope of most intentional communities.  There's no difference from the world other than people want to pretend its different.   

2. He crossed plenty of lines at Battenkill.  The straight line to the finish, the rules themselves, respect for competitors, respect for officials, respect for their decision.  He pulled out the doper's excuse to justify his actions, "it's what happens in pro racing."  There was no reason to demonize Freyre or the officials.  Freyre was free to protest, he found a relevant rule, and the officials got to make the decision.  Adam signed up for that, yet he couldn't abide.  He then assembled a pitchfork mob to bitch about both Freyre and the officials.  

Agree with Jules. Adam seems pretty fair in social media. Every so often he is harsh, but usually calling people out when they say stupid or offensive stuff.

Bullying the bully is ok in my book.

And duh, like him or not, Myerson is obviously a favorite in the American circuit, and one of the major drivers of the awesone CX scene we enjoy today.

FYI

The promoter from the Long Island cyclocross race at Kings Park psychiatric posted on Facebook that they are not running a race in December this year. So no Asylum race. 

THEY ARE running a race at Sunken Meadow Park (also Long Island) on Thanksgiving weekend. It's not on bikereg yet, but if you want to get some local racing in after scarfing down some turkey and cranberries, this will be your race. 

They at haven't provided details yet, but it sounds like it will be a two day event. The course at sunken meadow last year (after xmas) was fun. Sorta like HPCX with less steep climbing. Lots of slaloming between trees.
