Anybody ever taken the East River bike path? How far up does it go? It looks like on a map I could cut directly over to 25th, where I need to go today. Almost got killed twice yesterday coming down from 70th to Williamsburg bridge.

Also looking for a better way down/up to 70th on the east side. Almost all of the avenues I've tried are fairly sketchy at night and during rush hour.

Jeff, I used to run up there, but I think it stops just before the UN. Definitely a sketchy bit of modernity.

it does start back up again after the UN , but I have not been on that section so I can't say firsthand

google maps says you can take it from 63rd up to 71st, not sure if that helps at all.

Also, another blowing his trackstand at an intersection and falling into me! No harm. I actually couldn't help laughing. He apologized.

A woman in full body armor and day-glo everything on a mtn bike screaming (vocally as well) down 2nd ave only to get stopped at every light. It was exhausting to behold.

I need a camera ala Jules to document these fascinating creatures in their habitat.

setting up an urban cross course woud be awesome. Something you could ride a road bike on...but with mtb pedals and shoes for the dismounts. Maybe 25 mm training tires at 85-90 psi. I'm feeling an entire new category of bike racing.
