Anybody know anything about PEI as a vacation spot?
Anybody out there seen/tried an iphone cycling game called "ciclis 3D lite"? Oh man the gphx are terrible but hey, Ive never seen a cycling game for iphone before. There's another, chain reaction cycling's 'pro-cycling' which does look better, but only just. Must be a desperate train commuter to play these, I can't imagine doing this unless trapped in a locked metal box. Anyone?
If anyone is looking to scoop up some part time work, posting for one of my best college friends.

Hello!

My name is Christi Leong and I work with World Triathlon Corporation in the Merchandise department.  I’m sure you are all aware, but we are bringing Ironman to New York and New Jersey this year!  I am contacting you because I am organizing the staff this year for the Ironman Merchandise Store in our Ironman Expo; I was wondering if you may be interested or might be interested in forwarding this information to other members of your club.

As you may or may not know, the staff that works in the Ironman Merchandise Store are not volunteers; all staff in the store will hold a part-time, temporary position and will receive $12/hour.  We find it a great way to interact with the local community, as you are all the ones that make the race possible!  Additionally, it’s a great way to learn a little more about the innerworkings of Ironman and support friends and family that will be racing (many of our retail store temporary staff members will often have friends and families racing).

We are particularly interested with those with a background in retail or customer service, but we are willing to train just about anyone who is willing to learn, has a good attitude, is friendly and approachable, and wants to put in the hard work.

As a staff member in the store, responsibilities will include helping set up the store and displays, assisting customers with various needs and questions, restocking, packing, assisting in maintaining inventories, providing security throughout the store, breaking down and packing up the store at the end of event. This is a very active work environment so it will be expected that you are willing and capable to lift heavy boxes, bend and reach often, and withstand being on your feet all day.  For all days except race day, our store location will be at Pier 92 (http://www.piers9294.com/).  On race day, we will have several locations (stay tuned for those locations but they will be in a similar area to Pier 92).

If this is of interest to you please send me a copy of your resume (if you have one) and what shifts/times you would be available to work.  I will then put together a schedule based on that.  If you do not have a resume, feel free to include a brief bio that might have information that is relevant—interests, athletic endeavors, etc.

Please make sure to include the following information:

Name:

Phone Number:

Email Address:

Hours Available to Work:

The hours we are looking to hire staff include:

8/7/2012: 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Store Set-Up, Pier 92

8/7/2012: 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Mandatory Staff Meeting, Pier 92

8/8/2012: 10 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Expo/Store Open, Pier 92

8/9/2012: 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Expo/Store Open, Pier 92

8/10/2012: 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Expo/Store Open, Pier 92

8/11/2012: HC 1 Staff  6 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Transition (RACE DAY)

8/11/2012: HC 2 Staff  11:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. at Hot Corner Finish (RACE DAY)

8/11/2012: Expo Staff 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Pier 92

8/12/2012: 6:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Athlete Celebration/Finisher Day Sales, Pier 92

***Please note that the 8/11/2012 schedule (RACE DAY) is quite complicated.  Rather than worry about where you will be working, just let me know what hours you can work that day and I will take a look at where you might best fit!  Information regarding race day will be VERY specific—so you will know exactly where to go and what you will be doing!***

Upon hiring all staff must submit required tax forms and proof of identification prior to work shifts. In addition, all staff must attend a mandatory staff orientation meeting on prior to the store opening.

After being hired I will then be sending instructions for filling out necessary paperwork and important information regarding the event.

If you know of anyone else that fits the above description and/or you feel would make a good candidate please feel free to forward this email on.   We can hire anyone over the age of 16; it’s a great summer job and a great job for anyone who appreciates triathlon (or cycling/running/swimming) and wants to work in a fun, fast-paced work environment!

Please feel free to forward this on to any listserves, family members, friends, co-workers that you think might be interested and have them get in touch with me quickly!  Our schedule and hours will fill up quickly, so please make sure you get on the list ASAP!

Please contact me via email if you have any further questions; I will be happy to answer them!

Sincerely,

Christi Leong

Anyone want to spin a few circles in the park Saturday morning and then retire somewhere to drink coffee and watch the Olympics road race?
I'm still recovering from Owen's crotch attack machine video.
Anybody know anything about PEI as a vacation spot?
I spent several happy summer here as a kid

Shaw's
That's not the only video that's intended for Asian daytime TV
audiences that is actually NSFW.  There's also this one about the
discovery of a rare Chinese mushroom:

Try not to read the title of the movie so you can enjoy the surprise.
But again, probably NSFW.
Jesus.  Owns put NSFW in that post twice.  I can't wait...!
Wow.
ooof hope no one tries to eat it....

Why haven't we made a kissena version?
What does it say about Brooklyn that the video is giving me the message "Olympic video on the internet is only available to users in the United States and U.S. Territories"?

I guess I better get out of the Peoples Democratic Republic of Brooklyn, when I want to watch this video.
Dan - It doesn't work in Queens either ;)

Maybe its playing it via Vanilla Forums that has some funky international http routing to it  ?

direct works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxffBXIPOcg
