You can see the book at http://www.wheretobikenyc.com or Habitat or any number of shops in the city.

Several Kissena folks helped with the book.  Josh is on the cover with the lovely Alice, Wojciech is on the inside, as is Michelle Lee.  And some others helped, too.

58 rides in the book.  Some you know, many you don't.  Some are for training, some for racing, and many good for exploring.  The book is geared toward newer riders, but that doesn't mean you can't learn lots from the book.  There are also smartphone apps with rides that can be individually downloaded.

And yes, I'll autograph it for you. ;)
We need a smartphone app to neutralize the NYPD. Who was that character that could make people want to do things they normally wouldn't do? I know I'm being vague. Star Trek, The Matrix, Battlestar Galactica . . .
@ JP Can you do a Where to Bike for Paris (not Texas) pretty please?

Vlad is going to vote for sure!!!

"As of this afternoon, said J.C. Polanco, the Bronx GOP commissioner for the city BOE, officials were considering consolidating about 40 pollsites serving residents of hard-hit Breezy Point and the Rockaways in parking lots at Aqueduct Raceway, Jacob Riis Park and Floyd Bennett Field, setting up tents with generators."

An acquaintance of Vlad's just had her bike stolen outside of BAM.  Judging by the image she sent me, I'd say that her wimpy lock was the problem.  However, I'm posting here in case you come across someone trying to sell you the bike on the street.

It's a white Fuji Roubaix--aluminum main triangle and carbon fork and stays.

I received a notice regarding a shortage of poll workers in NYC due to Sandy. If you are available to work on on Tuesday, please try. I've been involved in the past and regardless of your politics it is a great experience.

I've paraphrased the notice:

In addition to having to move and/or replace polling places throughout the City (tents with generators or consolidated facilities may be used), the Board of Elections is short poll workers due to the storm. A polling place cannot open if the poll workers are not available.

If you are interested, the only requirements to be a poll worker are that you be a permanent U.S. resident, a New York City resident, 18 years of age, and that you complete a short training. You should feel free to forward to family and friends. Poll workers will need to be at their assigned post starting at 5am on Tuesday until after the polls close at 9pm. In some locations, that could be up until 11pm.

It is paid. $200 for the day, plus you will have to attend a training session and pass a test in order to work. You will be compensated for the training session too. I don't know if they will be holding any training sessions on Monday 11/4. For further information on how to be a poll worker, please call the EDO office at (212) 487-5305 or call the Board of Elections Phone Bank at 1-866-vote-nyc
